123RF / Payment this month?
« on: March 25, 2017, 17:44 »
Did you get payed this month?
I had $53.45 in my balance at the end of February and this amount is not deducted from my actual balance. Shouldn't they pay when you pass $50? Did they raise the minimum payout limit?

Thanks.

I came across this a couple of days ago... disregard the first half page. I'm not saying the pics are bad quality but I don't understand why you would do this.
https://www.shutterstock.com/search?page=1&searchterm=lapwing%20plover&sort=popular&image_type=all&safe=true&search_source=base_search_form&language=en

If you find that strange, how about this: https://www.shutterstock.com/g/netsay?search_source=base_gallery&language=en&page=1&sort=newest&safe=true

27 pages of clouds in a port of 2,010 pages of similars.

Adobe Stock / Re: from 100% acceptance to 0%
« on: March 24, 2017, 18:15 »
Could just be a bad reviewer. When I have photos rejected, I'll look them over and if I think the rejection is bunk, I reupload. Usually they get accepted the second time around.

I never tried reuploading anything to FT. You can't delete the rejected files so wouldn't they know that it was already rejected?

I had some strange rejections lately too, this week. Two images from the same session but different, one accepted, the other rejected for "Similar file already submitted", meaning that one of them is enough.
Though, there are contributors with pages of almost identical photos.

Also two floral backgrounds rejected for "Lack of aesthetic or commercial appeal". Aesthetic appeal? This sounds like: I don't like your haircut.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Portfolio appears to be empty

These guys at DT are not just incompetent but impertinent too.

On Dt, all portfolios are displayed with a large gap at the top which takes up all the space above the fold at 100% view. A buyer would think that there is nothing in the portfolio.

I contacted support and asked to fix it, we already exchanged three email and that sweet girl at the other end is still advising me to clean my cache.

This is the screenshot she sent me showing the page layout on her end.
The red lines were added by me.
Am I blind?

I was wrong earlier, only the above the fold area is empty and I didn't scroll down to see the rest.

Dreamstime.com / Portfolio appears to be empty
« on: March 17, 2017, 14:41 »
I just went to put my newly approved images in sets and I found my portfolio empty. It must be some loading problem, a pleasant surprise for the weekend.
Now I'm not surprised that sales are so poor.

Anyone else has this problem?

Alamy.com / Re: Editorial requirements
« on: March 16, 2017, 04:16 »
Until someone else comes with an answer, my best guess is that for editorial, when you mark it, requires all the fields, date, location, etc...

Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk
When you do the uploading the site tells you what fields are mandatory or optional...if you are selling elsewhere make sure you select RF Editorial

Thank you both.
So all I have to do is to fill in the fields for location, date.... at optional.

Thanks again.

« on: March 16, 2017, 03:49 »
Hi everyone,

I am contributing to Alamy for almost a year now, still can't find my way around.

I postponed uploading editorial images because I don't know if there are any special requirements for description and keywording (like on SS)?

I tried looking at other people's images but as there is no filter for editorials, I'm just guessing.

I see the blue info on some images but nothing else. Is that all?

Thanks.

That could be an explanation for my miserable March. 5 downloads for the entire month less than one day's earnings before. That has never happened before, not even when I first started, years ago.
What a pity, FT was my favorite and number one agency.

I'm trying for several days too with a batch of 5, it doesn't work for me either with FF.

« on: February 16, 2017, 05:38 »
I haven't uploaded to CanStockPhoto for a long time but today I did. I am at the unfinished section now, those wheels are spinning indefinitely but nothing happens. When I click on the edit pencil I see empty boxes, no metadata imported. Do I have to wait longer? Can I log out and come back later to finalize editing?

Thanks for your help!
You can leave it an return. I usually finish it the next day.
Thank you. I do that on DT but I was not sure if it works here too.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock - New earning table design
« on: January 31, 2017, 07:54 »
Where did you find this link?
https://submit.shutterstock.com/earnings

When I click on it I see the new table.

But when I click on the 'Earnings' menu I still see the old - and better - table

Is it a preview of things to come, or just an alternative way of seeing earnings?
Me too. I don't think a new table exists at all, it must be  bug that makes the page load incorrectly.

Alamy.com / Re: Keywords crunching
« on: January 28, 2017, 13:34 »
Has anyone noticed that the keywords on the Alamy site show up with the space missing? I have not seen this before. Can anyone tell me if I can leave them as is and be assured that they will work or do I need to go put back in the space between each key word? Right now it's one long jumbled word with commas separating each word.  I have 140 images I uploaded and do not want to go re-edit a boat load of keywords.

I separate the keywords and key phrases with a semicolon (just for Alamy old interface) and they show up on the site as comma+space.
It means more work because I have to paste the keywords for each image uploaded to other agencies in notepad and relpace the comma+space with a semicolon but at least they show up as intended.

Whatever they do, they just can't keep it simple. Now with the new interface things are even more complicated with all the mandatory and optional tabs, supertag prioritizing, common and uncommon tags, categories, multiple values, common values..... Oh my, it hurts just to read so many instructions: http://www.alamy.com/myupload/help/AIM-InstructionManual.pdf#page=16

Good reading. The new system with supertags instead of three boxes?

I never used all three boxes, just the first two.
I thought that the new system puts all metadata in place, but no, I still have to go back and put the stars on supertags. What is wrong with prioritizing tags by ordering them, as we already do that for other agencies?
Also, batch editing images becomes even more complicated with common and uncommon tags.

Did you just make that up, or have you got a private message with details the rest of us aren't aware of?! 😀
I was not making up anything, this is the first page I see after login:

I just wanted to help the OP, not looking to argue with anyone. Sorry I tried.

318
Close. The OP was trying to send a payment request to Shutterstock from his Paypal account... unaware that the correct procedure is to register his Paypal details in his SS settings, and they will send him the money every month... without him having to send an invoice through PP or request payment.
Maybe so but after signing in to PP, he could see his money in his PP ballance, so why request it again?

Besides, the PP email says clearly:
"Shutterstock Images C.V. sent you $..."

That's why I thought he has a withdrawing problem.

319
I opened a PayPal account, and when I go to "Send and Request Payments" and then to "Request a payment" PayPal asks for the Email address or Name of the recipient.
As I understand from your post your problem is at PP not on SS.

If you want to withdraw your money, you have to click on the "Withdraw" link in the left column of your PP home page not on "Send and Request Payments".
For some countries you can only withdraw to a credit card, so you have to link a card to your PP account (link is on the same page).

Click on the withdrow link and you will find instructions there.

320
I see under each image a link to the DMCA copyright complain form, that clearly shows that they are expecting some work to be stolen. Did you file a complain with them?

I see it's uploaded by a Chinese user (zcool.com.cn), can't even understand the page just when translated.
What a mess. Hope you can clear your name soon.

321
I wonder if they will clean up BS too. For now there is plenty of spam there too.

Yes, but it appears that everybody who posted to the deleted thread got the notice. I know I didn't post a link to anything.

We are asking all members to be respectful of one another and to refrain from posting other contributor's images as well as talking about them without their knowledge and permission, as this is not permitted under our Terms of Agreement.

No Yada, I don't remember posting any links either, I'm too lazy to gather such things but I posted something to another thread that may not be to their liking.

In fact, they deleted posts twice from that thread, the first time somewhere in the middle of the thread with Bar*y's intervention.

Btw, how come that you quote the exact text of the PM if you haven't got one?

323
Thanks

We are not allowed to post links to other people's images any more. They deleted all posts with links from the above mentioned thread and they sent out PM-s to contributors that it's against the TOS. Didn't you get a PM from a moderator?

I noticed that for these disappearing images the confirmation email was not sent (receives) at the time the images first showed up in port. For the batch approved on the 5th I received the email on the 6th and today they are back in my port.
Is it possible that the reviewer forgets to push the button to send them to the library once approved?

All that is so true but the most painful is the missing images. I can still see my last approved batch in catalog manager but they vanished from my port and from search too. These images will never see the light in search.

More than that, hundreds of images are missing and I can't track them down.
I always upload the same batch to SS, FT and DT except editorials to FT and similars to DT, still I have the smallest port on SS.

I know this is not the result of rejections, approved images are just vanishing in thin air.
