General Stock Discussion / Re: Accepted into ImageBrief
« on: October 03, 2013, 10:21 »
Well done Ron, I had never heard of them before - hope it is successful for you

52
I still find it astounding that these agencies are "worth" so much when they don't actually own any of the content, just the hardware and operating systems. I wonder how much they would be worth if the internet went down for a month or two or, for some reason all contributors pulled their images (neither of which is likely but not absolutely impossible)

53
I don't think it works with PHP 5.4

Our forum has moved, we are now at Symbiostock.org

54
Sorry, my memory is not perfect and I do tend to forget who is using what.

Maybe you have s similar problem to me - when bluehost/justhost etc went awol at the beginning of August  so did the contents of my symbiostock_rf file but although I knew something was wrong with some of my images I did not work out exactly what until late August and since then I have been reuploading and seo'ing over 1,100 images.  The only reason I mention this is as you said they worked 2 months ago but do not now - about the same time frame as my problems.

55
At the moment it seems to be just you and Neilr that are having this problem at the moment

Have you tried turning off all the plug-ins to see if any are affecting it?  With so many different hosts, plug-ins (and their settings) and versions different people are using it can be difficult to replicate problems to find the cause

Symbiostock discussion has moved to symbiostock.org

Hi and welcome to symbiostock, we now have our own forum where you will probably get more response at symbiostock.net -hope to see you there

Most people are submitting to the stock sites and have a Symbiostock site so you can reach even more people.

Why not join us over at symbiostock.org - the new home of the Symbiostock forum

Symbiostock - General / Re: Can Symbio Stock do these things ?
« on: September 18, 2013, 04:46 »
I do not think this could be done as it stands at the moment but all sorts of things can be done if someone could create a plug in for you.

Symbiostock - Technical Support / Re: Uploading & FTP
« on: September 14, 2013, 11:25 »
Do you mean your uploaded images have gone or that the upload area has moved?

The upload area moved with, I think, V 2.5.6 it is now in /your-site-path-to/wp-content/plupload/uploads/
You will find your exact path in the upload area

If your uploaded images have gone if you upgraded after uploading images but before you processed them, then this is one of the quirks that has now been fixed with the latest versions

We now have our own Symbiostock forum at http://symbiostock.org

Leo has opened a thread about licences at symbiostock.org

62
I hesitate to write this because I do not want to undermine the sterling work done by so many for a very worthy and useful cause, but as a graphic designer I cannot get past the ugliness of it.

It looks amateurish and I wouldn't want to display my pictures in that context for that reason. Compared to something like this:

Most of us ARE amateurs at web design and if a graphic designer happened along who wanted to help out with some constructive help I doubt anyone would say no.

You could display your pictures almost anyway you wished, nearly everything is editable if you know what you are doing or are willing to experiment

63
Does anyone else have any ideas on this - I had a quick look at the licences etc in the back end but nothing jumped out of me that ezeepics had done wrong in creating them

64
I just registered (so don't send me an email because I left an empty cart :) )

The error is there
as soon as you select a size of licence the error disappears

when I log out and nothing is selected it reappears

65
Licence information immediately under image - SYXtra plug-in

Other licences and information - Symbiostock
~~

The error is no longer showing - but you no longer have extended licences either

Early on we could not resize images - now we can

67
I think it is because you do not have the standard licence at the bottom that
1.  You are getting the error message
2.  The extended licence is not an option (ie you cannot select it and thus add those prices to the standard prices to get an increased total)

Try:
Setting up a standard licence in the Symbiostock (bee)  licences area - in the yes/no box select yes and put 00.00 in all the pricing boxes (these are additional prices to those you set in the author options area so they need to be zero for the standard licence)

Then add both extended and standard licence to ALL your images in the author options area and apply to all images (unless you have lots of different options then I will leave you to work it out :)  )

The sizes in the description do work (or always have for me)  You should get your standard licence added to the licence options before you ask anyone to buy though I think

69
The only licence you are offering on your cupcake page (and possibly others but that is the one that you gave as an example) is the Extended licence.  There is no standard licence available - take a look and see - then look at one for instance - http://stockimages.kerioak.com/image/sunset-beach-with-seagull/?r=http://stockimages.kerioak.com and you will see that I offer both standard and extended licences

Edit:  I would change the settings in your SYXtra plug in to hide the licences for now as they do not match what Symbiostock is offering

70
You only have an extended licence set, try addig a standard licence as well

71
The extra user information appears only after you have activated the network

That is a post (think blog)
You need to make a Page (symbiostock pages) for a slider.  Go into  Pages , find your Home Page and edit that
Go to your Theme (or hopefully you have created a child theme ) and edit it , make the static front page your home page

Sorry  - had moved to the new forum at symbiostock.org  and forgot to visit here.

1.
Have you put a title in for the photo -
Upload images
Process to drafts
Edit in the Stock Images (ladybird), All Images section to add title, description, SEO etc

2.
Have you checked out the tutorial on the Help page in the Symbiostock (Bee) section and Amanda's tutorials - I have a link in my signature, these might both help you.

3.
Some of us are now offering a setting up service which might help if you get totally stuck?
