Off Topic / Re: Stumbled upon Gurushots
« on: January 06, 2018, 14:59 »
I've been downloaded app about a week ago, but for now I have uploaded just some pictures I took with my phone. Maybe will try my luck with some photos that woudln't sell well as stock photos.

But also I noticed that there are some fees to pay if you wanna have a chance to get your picture on the exibitions. And I doubt that there is any good from those exibitions except self satisfaction?

Have anyone tried this site/app?
It looks interesting to me but I'm thinking my pictures are open to a little bigger risk of getting used without paying. And on the other hand there are usualy used completly other type of photos that usualy don't sell very vell, since stock photo and artistic photos are (usualy) two different things.

Anyone tried this? Anyone have to say anything about this? Good? Bad?

Is it possible to change keywords on pictures after they are accepted?
I wouldn't like to upload double images and need new keywords on some images.

Nikon / Nikon D3300 with AF-S 18-105 lense for first DSLR?
« on: July 18, 2017, 18:13 »
Hi guys,
I have been thinking to buy my first DSLR camera and to start some serious work with stock business, but for now I have limited buget. What do you think about Nikon D3300 with AF 18-105 lense for start? What can you tell me about camera, since I have never tried to take a picture with it? How does it work inside the house (light just from lightbulb), or in lower light (cloudy weather) outside? And what kind of pictures are best with it and are the worst?
Or if you are not familiar with it, what would be your best choice in that price range?

Thanks in advance.

iStockPhoto.com / ESP Getty Images log in question
« on: April 19, 2017, 07:20 »
First of all I have to say sorry for asking questions that are probably already answered on this forum but I haven't been active for last half year since I started college in different city and don't have a lot of free time or internet time, and don't have too much time to read pages and pages. So sorry guys.

The main question is: Why can't I get log in on Getty site? I could in the beginning, and it is impossible that  I forgot the password since it was remembered on my computer. Also I mailed Getty, I think more than a month ago, and I still haven't got any answer. At first I could see my earnings on Account Management when I couldn't sign in on ESP part, but now I can't see any part of my account.

And until I can't log in on Getty site, is there any way to see my earnings and downloads on iStock site?

I didn't know they can go that low on Thinkstock, I had lower sales but only on Getty. Or could that be some kind of a bug?

« on: September 22, 2016, 11:42 »
They are finished for Thinkstock for sure, there were PP sales shown for 31st August and they don't miss dates as I noticed, there will still be some from Getty that goes under partner program.

Photography Equipment / Re: This I believe is truth

I don't know why the camera manufacturers haven't used amdroid more.  There's a few cameras using android but not many.  Then they could have apps like instagram, snapchat etc. on the camera.  I use dropbox to backup my phone photos, would be great to be able to use that on my camera.

Sony and Olympus have tried cameras that use a smartphone for the screen and connect wireless but they didn't do a good job.

We're all wondering about this.  I think the camera companies just don't have the engineering resources to make this happen.  The Android group probably supports phones to the max and supplies a complete platform kit for anyone wanting to make a phone. A camera is a different game and would require a lot more software development which companies like Sony and Nikon aren't able to do.  They're just not big enough, and they're not software companies.

I think it doesn't have to be that hard. They just need to allow us to put our phone in place of our screen on camera that will be connected to work as screen and to store images directly on phone. Maybe taking one picture will take a little bit longer time but I think it could be possible to do.

I haven't got any yet but thanks for letting me know.

Actually no I haven't and now I feel a little bit better :)
Last one was on tenth and after 3 days of nothing I just asumed that I haven't sold anything else. It was a little bit strange but since I don't have too many sales yet I thought that it could happened if it is bad month.

Any ideas why would thing like this happen? In 3-4 months as I active upload there I haven't noticed any pauses in reporting. And also I've sent them mail about something diferent about a week or more ago and still didn't get answerand before they would answer in a day or two if I remember corectly.

iStockPhoto.com / More credit sales than sub sales on iStock?
« on: September 12, 2016, 15:50 »
I had a wierd month on iStock, I know I'm new here and don't now anything yet about oscilations but if they finished reporting sub sales I had more credit sales then sub sales and thats not because I had more credit sales than usual, I had just normal amount.

I know iStock was before credit only sales but I kinda always had a lot more subs and seemed normal to be like that so this is just not normal I think. Did anything like this happened to anyone else?

And according to July I can't hope for much sales from Thinkstock.

Thanks for answer. In my country I think it is still ilegal to draw them (at least on buildings like in this case, but there are places - walls specialy for them as I heard), but I don't think that will change something.

Is submiting as editorial ok?

I get it that they are some kind of artworks, and I respect it and that's one of reasons I'm asking this.

And to be more percise about desription of graffiti: it isn't one of those really big artistic pictures, it's really 2D sketch with simple message around it. I have seen few of them (all the same) in city.

And all graffiti are good for editorial if not for commercial use?

Hi there,
Maybe dumb question, but do graffiti need to be set as editorial pictures as I'm not the author of graffiti, just the one who made a click? Graffiti is on (what I think is) public building.

Thanks in advance.

Illustration - General / Re: Any iS exclusive vector artist here?
« on: September 07, 2016, 04:15 »

P.S. Sorry for non English post, but it was easier to me and she will understand :)

P.P.S. Mozes naci linkove ka profilima ljudi ispod postova koje okace (ako su stavili linkove), ja imam linkove ka SS i iS.
