The U.S. media wants Trump to be elected; it's the political story of a lifetime.  To that end they've given him 10 times the coverage of other candidates - free of charge.  And they'll continue playing ball with him until the election - by running soft-pitch stories like "Trump refuses to back down" instead of going after his ridiculous and inconsistent statements.

But if Trump somehow manages to get elected, that all changes and the media sets out to bring him down.  That's when they'll start to pull all the skeletons out of the closet, and go for his blood
.  They'll do their best to push it all the way to impeachment.  It won't be pretty.  Chaos and conflict is what they want, what they sell, and what they know how to create.

the wisest comment on this topic so far.
the real story is not how good trump is, but who brings the most watch-rating.
that's all the US media is interested. they are not out to find the w w w w w of journalism
but selling ads and making big profit.

and yes, after the election, if he wins, they will go for blood...
because that will be the news that sells .
US media is all about that. that's why those lettermen talk-trash shows go on forever...

remember once, the girl who married van halen got an interview
and when she said the marriage is going well, the media stopped asking.

more recently, same thing with jackson browne...
he wanted to talk about the common issues that need to be told,
but when the media heard what it was, they told him to forget it..

that's US media for sure.

Many jobs were exported to developing nations and we're now starting to feel the pain.

My suspicion is that Trump is saying all the right things and he looks like an outsider, being attacked from the establishment, but he is in reality just playing a part. A bit like 'hope and change' but this time for the righthand side of politics.

Everyone knows something is wrong and we're heading towards an endgame so the candidates are more extreme, such as Berni and Trump. The death throws are getting more extreme.

Trump likes to talk about winning all the time.  The problem with winning is there is one winner and the rest are losers.

Trump wins when he kicks an old lady to the curb to build his casino parking lot.  Trump wins when brings in cheap temporary imported labor for his Florida resort.

I'd rather see a politician speak about empowering people and raising up those who are hurting.

The anger show at his rallies comes from people who are losing.  What makes them think a self centered, megalomaniac greedy businessman who has built his company around creating gilded play-lands for the rich is going to care about them?

He doesn't care about the middle class - the middle class isn't his customer base.

The "anger show"? It's not Trump supporters disrupting other people's rallies, thinking they don't deserve democracy, it's Trump's rallies that are being sabotaged by thugs.

"Trump wins when he kicks an old lady to the curb to build his casino parking lot. "

That's a lie. You are the angry crowd fed by lies. You are juts seeing yourself in the mirror.

Lol. Article about woman who fought Trump's attempt to have her house condemned in order to build a parking lot for one of his casinos:

http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/news/kicks-sand-trump-face-sneers-donald-bucks-article-1.815484

Those of us who live in the New York area and have been to Atlantic City are long aware of Trump's bullying of the lower and middle classes to put up his buildings.

no lol. The bulldozing is a total lie, never happened, and the old lady was offered money twice what her house was worth, how is the 'kicking someone to the curb'? Just pure nonsense as always...

Really? Have you read huffpo for example nowadays? How is saying that Trump incites violence, will get someone killed at his rallies, is part of the mob so he should be banned, or this note et the end of each Trump article: "Editor's note: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims - 1.6 billion members of an entire religion - from entering the U.S."... is "playing ball with him" ? :)

Nothing wrong with Trump winning. People are tired of politicians who promise things and never deliver. People are tried of politicians who are easily bribed by lobbyist groups and help their rich friends get richer.

Trump winning is a shot in the arm for America. He just may be the best candidate in this entire election.
Why would Trump be any different?  Do you really think he wont be helping his rich friends and himself get richer?  Are people really that naive? The system doesn't work, it really doesn't matter who makes the false promises before the election.  I wouldn't trust Trump or Clinton, they both have a shady past.

You seriously think he can do it better this way, than from the behind the scene, hidden from the public eye? That's just pure nonsense. You actually likely to erode most of your ability for corruption if you become the world's most watched person. Going thru all this hassle probably means losing influence for a super rich person. If what you said had any truth to it, the last 3 decades would have been about rich businessmen being candidates, and it never happened - for a good reason

Even if his intentions are shady, it's definitely not business. He is solely losing on the business side with this. An overwhelming sense of pride an ego, to achieve everything there is to be achieved would be the best bet... but people who try smear Trump every way possible don't like mention that, because all that urge to prove himself to the world might work out to the benefit of USA in this situation.
As president, Trump could lower taxes for the rich and lower taxes for his businesses.  I don't think being president would hinder him in any way, just look at other leaders around the world, many of them use it to increase their wealth.  This week, the multi millionaire George Osborne lowered his taxes while attempting to take money away from disabled people in the UK.

If Trump didn't want to profit from being president, he could pledge to sell his businesses if he got the job.

USA did not wait Trump to ban access to muslin, they banned Cat Stevens (on 21 September 2004) after he converted to Islam and took the name of Yusuf Islam

Its pretty bad when your own party does not want you in there. Trump can buy anything he wants.. I think it is another thing he wants to buy. He has been a politician type of person all his life. I think Hilary will make him look bad in the debates. Will be interesting and the entire thing has been a circus. How embarrassing for the USA. SMH

Topol is a breath of fresh air in all this hardcore leftist rhetoric.

By the way, Topol, better just read and be amazed by the sheeple thoughts.

It's far more enjoyable than trying to bring them back to reality.

Playing ball with Trump doesn't mean you're for, or against, him, politically.  It means you give him free publicity that reinforces his image, and you make money by doing it.   Huffington Post churns out  over-the-top political correctness, exaggerating what Trump actually says.  Then they sell the outrage, and Trump gets another soft pitch to hit out of the park.   This is followed by more "Trump refuses to back down" and "Trump stands by his remarks" headlines.  And his numbers go up.

Here's part of what Les Moonves, CEO of CBS, said to an investor gathering in January:
Ive never seen anything like this, and this is going to be a very good year for us. Sorry. Its a terrible thing to say. But, bring it on,  Donald. Keep going."

Nope.
The truth is that, when you exhale such thoughts, the air is far from being fresh, Mr. Jirinovsky/Putin/Trump fan.
This stench is as old as WWII.

No, playing ball does mean you are for someone. Few links just to keep away from infinite BS:

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/play--ball

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/play-ball

http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/play+ball

Trump doesn't get any soft pitches, he just refuses to quit. No one ever got attacked as viciously from all possible mainstream sides as him. If that's a soft pitch for you, I don't what's the hard one.

You must be living in a bubble with very distorted reflections of yourself, if you don't see the obvious similarities between the 4 "gentlemen" mentioned above. FYI, WWII doesn't only mean extreme nationalism = nazi (despite the indoctrination you might have been subject of, since YOU mentioned it). It means dictatorship, either fascist or communist. It means autocratic "beloved" leaders. It means loss of liberties and freedom. It means police state. It means war.

It means fear.

Or pretty much everything Trump stands and preys for.

Yeah, Le Pen, Geert Wilders... etc
Maintaining proportions, there is a "Trump" in almost every country, but none, except Putin, seems to have so much popular support these days.

Trump seems non partizan to me, he appears to be pandering to the prejudices of people across the political spectrum and with great success.  What does that say about his view of the American people?
I wouldn't know where Trump stands politically as I have yet to hear a coherent policy being put forward by him.  What does that say about his view of the American people?

Frankly, I'm over playing my part. I envy the Islanders that I've visited a few times. They don't have Governments tax 50% of their fish and vegetables. They don't have medical and iPads, but they have other freedoms that are quite nice.

The American majority would probably like Bernie, but Americans with intelligence would rather not see him get elected.
