Full disclosure, if you decide its not for you, it takes 6 months to close up and remove your images, mainly because of DT and Alamy. They are under the same rules as us individuals.

right!
For example Adobe:
I deleted my photos on my personal Adobe account - just one click for each image. Then DIRECTLY after that I clicked submit to Adobe on Wirestock. That was possible because if you delete a photo on Adobe it DIRECTLY disappears, And because I upload and submitted that images to other agencies via wirestock already, it was also just one click for each photo on wirestock (to submit to Adobe again). Easy!

Did you try to ask the support from pond5?
I had questions in the same direction and also told them about artist who now double the price to get the real expected price and they answered me very detailed about their marketing strategy.
Just a side: It is also described in their FAQ which you accepted as non exclusive artist.
Best you ask them yourself.
I also did not know about it, because I guess nearly nobody is reading that FAQs before, right?
And: They lower the price only in special regions, not everywhere, but always change the regions, too, so it is difficult to tell you where they are cheaper right now.
Really confusing. But they also are okay, if you double the price instead. - but then the double price might shown in not selected regions and it could be to expensive for them ???

I was also surprised finding many images below 5$, mostly 3$ for XL and many just for 1$ all sizes. But strangely not one of my photos were offered for that low price even I have many set to the minimum price. The answer to that I did not understand and I was lazy to ask again. I guessed, it might be because I am exclusive with my videos on pond5 and so they also did no touch my photos? but they said NO! ALL photos and NOn exclusive footages are until 50% cheaper in special and changing regions. Confusing, but luckily I am not really involved.

I like the question!

Of course it is against the terms and conditions.

But I guess, the idea behind the question is only to prove, if sales reported always or not. Lets say: If the agency did not report about it - it would be also against the terms and conditions, right? And how could we prove it from contributors side if not by buying some images for proving it.
As long he only buys 3 images every three month, why not?

But I would not buy myself, I would ask friends to do it and indeed not many, because that could help ranking and so on and that is indeed against the terms and conditions too.

Getty Images 2,000,000 photos
Image Professionals 205.000 photos
Cavan Images 137,000 photos
1X 92.500 photos
EStock Photo Decor 190.000 photos
StockTrek Images 44,000 photos
Shutterstock 9,500 photos

And these agencies for sure do not have to pay the yearly premium membership LOL

@Rosco:
You are totally right!
It is not worse it on eyeEm in case of getting any sales. Better directly to iStock.
AND: Worst case: Adobe choose your content, eyeEm get a sale for 0,33$ and I get only 25 % from that 0,33 $! No! And Alamy: I also upload there: For what compete with myself and getting much less via eyeEm?

One of your and my question got finally answered from eyeEm support by email to me:

# There has been an update in the type of content we deliver to Getty Images. Getty Images asked us to stop sending micro stock content completely. Therefore we will focus more on sending authentic content.

But micro stock content will still be delivered to our other partners, such as Adobe Stock. We are currently still working on reflecting these changes on our front-end. Currently only when a photo went live on Getty Images the status would change to 'Partner Collection'. We will adjust this to change also when the image reach other main Partners. #

My answer:
I will close my account, if they still want to pay me the money, which is below the usual limit.

And I feel well with it - like stripe problems away and put in to garbage ;D 8)

107
I newly changed my strategy and will now upload my images to all agencies. Not to better agencies first and after a time to the lower ones anymore.

Therefor I have to overthink my portfolio on eyeEm:
If I get sales on eyeEm market itself, I still get 7,25$ revenue. So, why not keep the images there and upload more - it is not that much work. Even I know eyeEms sales on their own market going to nearly Zero and they will not change anything to make it better.

More interesting for me now:
Partner sales:
On the one side I could say: Dont care about pennies from Getty! Maybe rarely I will get better prices. But have in mind: Even if you get a sale on Getty for the highest price: Our revenue will be nearly the same like on eyeEm market.
I could say: Dont care about it, as I changed my strategy now and just take what I get anyway.
BUT: Since 10 month now Getty did not select any of my selected for partner photos anymore!
I could also dont care about it. But as I now want to sell everywhere, including iStock, I have to decide:
Waiting, waiting waiting until my images got selected from Getty
or
Delete them all on eyeEm and submit to iStock instead?
I have also many images from one shoot each I could not upload to iStock because of similary. Well, in real they are not toooo similar, but we never know how picky Getty is, if they find them much cheaper on iStock.

So, what should I do?
Deleting all selected for partner photos on eyeEm - maybe which are older than 3 month, and then upload to iStock instead or keep them online on eyeEm and I will not be able to upload images from the same shot to iStock?

I am closer to delete and submit to iStock now, but still very confused.

What are your advices for me?

Btw: the only thing I keep from my old strategy: Uploading new photos to iStock will be minimum 3 month later than on other agencies.

Thanks for your opinions in advance.

Oh, yes: When was your last photo changed from selected for partner to Partner? How long they stuck as selected for partner before?

I think the most likely reason for no reply is that he has passed it on to marketing so they can come up with a carefully worded response that avoids words like censorship or kowtowing to oppressive regimes. They need to spin it as actually being sensitive to peoples feelings (I mean people who can let them access the market, not people like LGBTQ communities in those countries), which is a tricky balance under the circumstances. You know, the usual.

Again: Hopefully you are right with your guesses! But I still suspect there are other reasons behind or just more than you guessed, which might - in which way ever - has a economical or idiological reason for them, which we still do not understand.

109
I dont think theres a lot of point analysing this by checking specific searches yet. Sounds like they are manually going through big contributors portfolios and okaying images for these territories. I would think there wont be much logic to what is up in those countries in terms of volume until further down the line. These countries' collections will just be whatever has come across the reviewers screens as they go through the portfolios minus what they censor.

From the explanation and the lists of countries involved my guess is that eventually these countries will end up with the whole collection minus any LGBTQ positive images, any images with what may deemed to have excessive skin showing. Maybe even minus anything deemed to be to empowering to women. Of course also anything that could be seen to be criticising specific regimes and their policies. Same old hypocrisy every big tech company does when breaking into these markets (so not a criticism of Adobe above the rest).

Let us hope, you are right! And if Mat would have explained it like that, most of us could accept it! But he did not do it! So, it keeps up suspected.
And why ALL images WERE available in the past for ALL countries?
Does a country or organisation critisised Adobe in case of your esamples above, so that Adobe had to start to select images like that now?

110
Mat, time goes by, questions still not get answered more than I have no more information at this moment.
What about NOW? Any more information for us?
I know that you respect Jo Ann. Why not starting answering her questions first. That would be a good sign and 90% of all questions would be answered.

111
And Adobe still dont want to unfilter people that much. If you filter no people there are still minimum 30% coming up with people and many of them with whole body.
Adobes search engine seems to be very bad, but I am sure it is Adobes plan to show only the images with most sales.
If you search for a name of a small beach in Indonesia, which is not well known from foreigners, Adobe shows alternatives first and ask, if we really want to search for that beach name. It is frustrating!
You could think: Hey, great, I am the only one took photos of that beach (on Adobe), but they show alternatives instead.
So, Adobe is really only supporting special images and contributors and treat the other ones in that way. Now more in a discriminating way since their regional outsourcing. I researched little bit more and found out that not only images shot in these discriminated countries getting outsourced. No! Already images uploaded from that countries getting outsourced, too, even if these images have no connection to a special country like usual backgrounds and so on.

Evangelist in this case getting a new dimension and meaning.

WHEN Adobe will give us clear statements about their regional plans?
Sorry, Mat, I will not stop forcing Adobe or you to answer all the questions which are still not answered!
(The other thread already died, no questions anymore, because we even will not get any answers. Instead Adobe offers this instant pay to make their contributors forget about the regional plans and others.)

Pressmaster (~5,000)
https://stock.adobe.com/search/free?creator_id=280047

I dont want to blame Pressmaster, who really shoot great and salable images, but I directly remembered that agencies forced us to take authentic images now. But if you look at Pressmaster as just one example: Where is the authentic there? ALL people looks like posing. but it still sells.
Same as diversity: We got forced to shoot more diversity and there might be increased sales for it (and authentic images, too), but still most sales are not these diversity images.
And if I see how clean these images are (indeed professional), well, for me it is a no go, because it again does not look authentic in any way.
But I have to state that I hate advertising in any kind and directly click them away or on TV I change the channel. It is still a dreamworld nearly nobody have.

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 halved prices for all clips
« on: June 12, 2021, 11:59 »
I only remember a special discount on all items 30 off, but limited for 2 days only.

Could it be that you in the past let pond5 set the prices and after that you set your own prices? So, because of that preset to leave it to pond5 might still active and then indeed they can do whatever they want with your prices - also increase if that time on demand.

My suggestion:
Ask the support and send them the file ids. Pond5 usually investigate things very serious and in a good way. The support from them were always great for me.

If you have ever uploaded images to Yayimages (Yaymicro), check your pictures in their portfolio on Adobe https://stock.adobe.com/ru/contributor/208541429/yay-images
If you find that they are selling your pictures, soon your photos have a chance to be transferred  to Adobe free download section discussed above.

Is it only on the Russian site?
It takes very very long to open it - from Indonesia.
I tried to change the region - because I remember where the link should be, but then I got PAGE NOT FOUND. Maybe Yay only offers in Russia? To get not known about it from it own contributors, who have to contact each and all sites personally if they want their images delete there, because Yay does not care about keeping selling without paying their contributors. For me it is new, that they also sell on Adobe.

115
Dutch moved to non exist regions? LOL ;) :D

116
I am still searching for an agency, where my most Indonesian images would sell better. As Pixta is from japan, might be it is a good idea to try them out?
Or any other suggestions for my Indonesian images?
Also images for Prints (POD): Which POD site would be best for Indonesian images/prints?

117
Hi Mat,
will a regular customer see free content intermixed with the "standard" content within the search results?

Best would be indeed:
Free pic is one of a batch and similar images shown up are for sale. so the customer can select the free image or might prefer one of the images on sale.

Adobe Stock continues to grow in sales; plus Mat comes on here and lets us know what's going on which is a bonus.

Seems like sales on Adobe decreases since their new announcement and region plan, if we can believe the Poll Results on the right and see the graphs.

Mat - in the past -  indeed did that and still does it, if it has nothing to do with the new announcement. But clear answers to that many many questions about the new announcements he did not answer yet, even if they came from contributors, he usually directly reply.
I will not stop writing this until we get answers and will not stop saying the NO answer IS also an answer! Which makes the whole thing worse than any expected.

Brasilnut & farbled:

I also agree totally - have same experiences.

Also my last keywording check was really bad and I told them. They checked it and agreed totally and after I changed the keywords via email, they DIRECTLY changed them on Alamy (the only one I submitted that images that time). That shows, they really care on contributors. But I also have to say, keywording THAT images were not that easy. I did not prove their keywording with normal commercial photos recently, but after I read, they searching for keyworder specialists and that even without them the keywording got better, I will be soon brave to use the easy submission.

Everybody got problems with the so-called "similar images" which get rejected by SS, for example. Why not upload these "similar images?
The question is, how reliable is Wirestock? Will they disappear from the market after some years? Will they change their policy like other agencies.

Which agencies are left and did not change anything exciting even in the last 12 month?
We have to be flexible all time.
So, if wirestock changes something which is worse than the agencies themselves, we have to move the images again.
But for me personally: If that happens: depending on what, then I might quit totally from the stockphoto business.
Look: Who had Adobe and Alamy on its plan? Me either! Really shocking what these agencies are doing!
How could a contributor even trust ANY agency now? Do we still trust the agencies, who are still fair until now to us? Come on! For sure we are all more suspecting bad things even from them, right? And that not because of these left fair agencies, but because of the bad agencies who s....t in the soup and destroyed all trustness in this business!
If the time comes and no fair agency left, then I might submit all images to instant pay on wirestock. And the good images I sell only on POD sites or do not sell at all.
They can get my s...t as they take any s....t. But my diamonds: Sorry, you can try as often you like, you will never get and not for any offer.

dreamstime:

Yes, after 6 month, images turn down to Level O. These images we can delete without problems. Or NOW: only disable! After 12 month these disabled images will be deleted and taken out of their system.
Images younger than 6 month with minimum Level 1, are more difficult to delete, but possible: As I read from others: You cannot delete to many, there is a limit, but I never read, what this limit exactly is.

No offense, but that sounds like some rather important info you might want to check out before making firm plans. I've found many opinions on the forums might have incorrect info (my own included). Just my 2 cents...

Rather important indeed. Maybe I missed it, but I can't recall reading instructions from Wirestock to delete content on non-wirestock submitted agencies after an instant pay license. I didn't do that for the images I sold via instant pay, so they are still out there (and not selling, hence the instant pay strategy at Wirestock for some of my content).

All I know is that submitting to wirestock is non-exclusive, except the Adobe exclusive program.

And you were right! as wirestock answered me today very clear:

Thanks for the questions. With our Instant Pay Program you receive a one-time advance payment of $4-5/image (minus Wirestock commission) from each agency that selects your images. The selected images may be listed for free download on the agencies that select them, and you will no longer be able to remove the images from those agencies after you have received the advance payment. However, nothing will change in regards to the other agencies you have submitted to before, you will still continue licensing your images through existing agencies as well as there will not be any issue with iStock. The time frame is 3-4 months.

122

Sure, I understand. But I can only conclude that Zoonar is my worst performing agency.
I like Zoonar's concept and the distribution to other partners like DDP, PA and Age, but none of my content seems to sell (while it surely does on other agencies).
Age is not even reviewing submitted content. Why keep them on board?

[/quote]

Just aguess:
Because I newly know that ALL images submitted to Alamy (directly or via Zoonar/wirestock...) appear on Agefoto!
So, if you upload your images to Alamy AND Zoonar, your images will already online on Agefoto - maybe before Agefoto even view your images upload to Zoonar.
But finally still interesting, if Agefoto at all still check the images on Zoonar or not.

Arrrg, Zazzles:
I wanted to try them, but it is toooooo much work to get the images fit for each item they sell!

Same with society6: I want to sell wall art there, so I guessed it will be not that much work, but we need to increase the pixxels very much to get them fit even for only wallart. so you have to increase them in different ways and must be exactly fit! That means: Each photo you have to edit/change pixel first and many times and upload many times.

I asked them, how to do it in a fast way, but got two times only a unpersonal information, which they already offers in the system itself, too.

So, I gave up!

124

#All Wirestock requires is that you are not selling the same image on the same agency if they are doing it on your behalf.#

If that is true, then it is much easier than I guessed. That means, if for example Adobe is the one who buys the images and we only submit to Adobe via wirestock, we never will get problems.

But what I understood was indeed: no other paying agency possible - for example iStock. And yes, that time wirestock said: They will delete the images on all agencies via wirestock theirselves. But the other agencies outside of wirestock, we should delete the images.

Hopefully YOU remember right.
