Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Copyright Issue
« on: February 05, 2018, 11:26 »
The first step you need to take is to file a formal DMCA complaint. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: https://www.adobe.com/legal/dmca.html

« on: December 23, 2017, 02:23 »
Hi everyone,

I would like to know what kind of content to upload to Adobe Stock?

Thanks in advance.

Adobe has a very diverse customer base around the world. The need for content is equally diverse. Shoot what you are passionate about and that will likely stand out in your work. We post some calls for content on the Adobe Stock blog from time to time. Check out the archives and bookmark the page to keep up on future posts as well.

Mat, thanks very much for a reminder - very helpful.

It'd be great if you could suggest to the IT folks that the system send out email reminders as needed to contributors prior to tax forms expiring - not everyone hangs out here.

How do I know when my tax form was created? It says no expiration date and I have no idea whether this is old from FT days or newer.

Yes, I would like to see an automatic reminder go out as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Matt when I click on the link nothing loads. All other links work. Does this mean my tax form is up to date?

Thnx

It might just mean that there is an issue with your browser. Shoot me an email with your Adobe ID and I'll take a look. Email [email protected]

Generally the tax forms are valid for 3 years. If yours was created in 2014 or earlier, my advice is to update the form.

Hi All,

Just a friendly reminder to update your tax form at Adobe Stock if your current form was created during or before 2014. Those forms will expire on January 1 which means all of your sales will be subject to maximum withholding.

You can update your tax form by clicking the Contributor Account link in the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Happy Holidays!

Adobe Stock / Re: Technical Error ???
« on: December 20, 2017, 11:01 »
It depends on the image. If you can identify and correct the specific technical issue it's generally OK to resubmit one time. If you are unsure what the technical issue is, I recommend you post the image here and ask for some feedback before resubmitting.

Adobe Stock / Re: New Adobe Stock Portal feature!
« on: December 11, 2017, 13:36 »
If the first 7 keywords are so important why don't you show the first 7 by default  - I only see 5 unless I click on show all.
I have asked it many times and I never get a satisfying answer :D
On the Fotolia/Adobe they tell about 5 and Mat persists to tell about 7, so how it is really?

@Chickikov, the answer to your question is yes.

Does that solve that? :)

As I'm typing this I'm sitting with the product manager for the contributor portal and he explained it to me like this. The first keyword you list has the most impact on relevance in the search. The 2nd keyword has high relevance but not as much as the first. The third keyword is less relevant than the first two and so on.

The trend continues, however when you get to keyword number 8 the % of relevance is so small it will have very little impact on search results if customers were using that word as a standalone. #7 is the last of which there is any significant relevance.

The reason there is a question about 5 or 7 is the minimum number of required keywords at Fotolia is 7 and the minimum at Adobe Stock is 5. The relevance is the same regardless.

My personal recommendation is to shoot for between 15 and 25 keywords.

Whatever you did to your Adobe importing system, you broke it. We import data with CSV metadata and since your update, there are random files that don't read from metadata correctly. It even gives completely wrong keywords.

Please send me an email with specific details and I'll look into this.

Adobe Stock / Re: New Adobe Stock Portal feature!
« on: December 07, 2017, 16:27 »
I was waiting for this feature, I have been one of those having asked for it a while ago.
So it is a good new!
But as I usually upload my photos using the ftp, in a first time, then I put my keywords in order only once the photos have been reviewed (I don't want to lose my time to order the keywords of images that could be rejected), and as in the portfolio page this new feature does not exist (I wonder why Adobe did this "half" work), it is almost useless for me, or I will have to change my workflow.

A question: if I order my keywords for an image and then I copy this keywords to paste them in another image, will they keep the order?

Yes, the order you add the keywords should stay in the order you add them. I don't recommend you resort your keywords after review.

-Mat

What's the reason you don't recommend resorting keywords after review?

The order of keywords is so important that putting it off until the file is already online could result in a missed opportunity to get found by people searching for new uploads. Unless you are really on top of it and make the switch immediately after it's been reviewed I think this is a mistake in strategy. That is just my personal opinion. Beyond that, I'm not a big fan of indexing to begin with. I'm always looking for ways to streamline and speed up the efficiency of my work flow. This is why I'm constantly working with the development team to increase the flexibility and range of options available in the portal. Indexing each file twice doesn't seem like good time management. Again, just my opinion. There is no "right way" and "wrong way" to do it. Whatever works for you is what you should do.

Hi Mat and all,

What is the difference between this new feature and the way whereby I can insert all keywords, copied from elsewhere (e.g. notepad or other keyword management program), into the first keyword box and clicking "enter"? In this way all keywords will be automatically inserted each into individual box. That's what I've been doing for quite a long time and I don't see how the new feature is anything more new than that one.

Also, I remain somewhat disappointed that this new feature doesn't appear to allow editing keywords (and titles) in a batch mode, so that I could keyword several similar images from the same photobatch at the same time. Unless I miss something. I think that's the feature that would be the real time-saving tool.

You are correct, you could always paste from a list of keywords into the top box and press enter or tab to distribute them. You could not copy your list of keywords however. In my workflow I would use the auto-keyword recommendations, add my own keywords and sort in order of relevance. If there were other images in the series that could use the same keywords there was no easy way to copy the list and apply it to other images. Now you can have the best of both worlds. If you prefer the keywords boxes they are still there and nothing has been changed. Simply ignore the toggle switch.

Adobe Stock / New Adobe Stock Portal feature!
« on: December 07, 2017, 11:35 »
Hello everyone,

One of the top requests we have received since launching the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal has been to make it easier to copy and paste keywords from one image or keyword list to another. I'm very happy to announce that as of today that request has been completed.

Upload your latest and greatest work (if you don't have any...get out and start shooting!) and work your way to the uploaded files page. You should see your uploaded files and the keyword boxes as normal. Just below the title box and above the top keyword box you will now see a toggle switch labled "paste keywords." Click here and instead of individual keyword boxes you will see everything listed out in one list so you can copy everything to paste elsewhere or you can paste other keywords here as you wish.

If this is your preferred method of adding keywords the default will remain as you leave it. Keep in mind that the Adobe Stock search engine still puts a greater emphasis on the first 7 keywords. Personally, I find it easier to sort and move keywords to a different order using the original keyword boxes so you may find yourself toggling back and forth.

I hope you like the change. Please keep your suggestions coming, we read them all and are working hard to make the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal the best upload experience in the industry.

Cheers!

What's your rank on FT? If you're still white, you can't. From bronze on you can.

Feel free to hit me up directly via email: [email protected]

I can adjust all the prices in your portfolio at once if you would like.

And still there. Matt are you not going to comment on this? What possible excuse is there for letting this blatant theft go on for this long? The thief (and adobe) will be making a small fortune off of this theft given how much these sorts of file sell. Not good. You should try contacting adobe corporate over this if their stock side aren't responding.  A company that makes its living off of creatives should be first on this stuff, not dead last. Get on twitter and reddit too.

I'll look into this. Will the OP please forward the original DMCA request to me? Email: [email protected]

Thanks,

Mat

done.

And there is another big problem if i upload illustration the "auto keywords" are more spam than are helping. so that i always must delect the auto keywords...

can i generell deactivated the "auto keywording"?

No, there isn't a deactivate default setting. If you are uploading content with not metadata then you can simply click "erase all keywords" and start from scratch.

If you embed your keywords in the metadata, then upload the file you won't see any auto-keywords.

Adobe Stock / Re: Suddenly cannot log into Fotolia side
« on: November 20, 2017, 10:29 »
I prefer to upload via Fotolia side.
Today I am having to log into every website everywhere, I assume because of a browser update.
Using old links to indexing page on Fotolia, it still takes me to this Adobe pop up.  Grr.  Thee seems to be no way to get signed into the Fotolia side.  If anyone has ideas, I woyld appreciate it.  I prefer the Fotolia interface.

Assuming your contributor account is active and in good working order, what you are experiencing is likely a popup page intended for customers. Since your browser was updated it likely doesn't recognize you as a contributor.

On that popup message page, scroll to the bottom and click the link that says you want to continue on to Fotolia and you should be fine.

« on: November 16, 2017, 03:53 »
It is OK.
Little by little in 3 days I have already got rid of almost half of my images portfolio.
Hard work, but I will get there by the end of the week.
And after that hopefully I can have again some sales at Fotolia

I'm not sure I understand your logic here. If you delete the files from Adobe Stock you are also deleting them from Fotolia simultaneously. You cannot have content online at one site and not the other.

Thank you, I know how to delete a single photo.
I want to delete my entire portfolio of photo and leave only my footage.
I was trying to find a way to delte them all at once, or at least several photos at once

Unfortunately there isn't a way to batch delete images without deleting the account entirely. This would remove your video files also.
