I wish I could go. I was Stationed in Berlin when the wall came down. I would love to see how the city looks now. Hit the Ku'* and go hang in the Old Irish Pub in Europa Center.

My old work site is pretty tore up now. Teufelsberg, the old US Army Intel Site. I even think they turned the Barracks I was in into a motel or something. Would be cool to get my old room back...lol.

Alamy.com / Re: Alamy Royalty Free
« on: July 15, 2011, 12:19 »
I think it it is worth it to keep pushing onwards with Alamy. I used to be happy seeing my shots selling at Micro prices. Not so much now since I have concentrated whatever I shoot to Alamy.

I just got a sale yesterday for $150. Editorial for a Textbook. When you become so used to seeing .25 or $1 per sale, Seeing $150 for a single sale really gets you motivated to keep pushing for more.

I am still a firm believer that shots related to British and surrounding Europe are the better sellers though. Just my opinion.

Zooms are only registered by specific buyers... not all of them. Zooms are nice but I want to see numbers in the Sales column instead. You can get sales without zooms.

Bigstock.com / Buying Miniature Pinscher Images
« on: July 08, 2011, 15:57 »
Just to let you know, I am buying Min Pin images on Big stock. I bought more than a few this week for the blog I am working on.

If you have shots of Min Pins on BS, let me know so I can see if they are what I would need.

If you had shots bought possibly by me and want to see them in use, www.minpinbreed.info

Now the site has hosting problems until I change host. Some people will get "cannot find server" or something like that. The site is also optimized for Firefox and I.E. 9. Safari and Chrome seems fine too. I.E. 8 and below does not show the sidebar menu.

Anyways, let me see them puppies.. I mean Min Pins   :P

Both.

LR for processing little editing and cataloging then Photoshop for the rest.

If it happens and someone finds out, let us know the Price per Share on it. Maybe that is the way to the Microstock Collective Idea.

131
^^Yeah, but holidays should still start tomorrow in that case:s

Why wait to start. People been blowing off fireworks all week already in my neighborhood.

Your welcome.

I have only started a blog here in the last week, but I need to change hosting due to some reason my current one has blocked my IP address. It's a pain to use a certain trick to change my IP just to work on one site. Waiting on support to get back to me. That sucks when you spend 2  days configuring the blog and then you start adding post and then you start doing some manual backlinking.

Nothing in there against their TOS. It's a blog about Miniature Pinschers..lol. Unless Naked Min Pins are considered Porn.

I was going to use hostgator but I am hearing some good things about Hostwind. Hostwind is cheaper the Hostgator too.

Update to my problem. Turns out it was not the hosting blocking me. My ISP's DNS somehow stored the site as bad. I just changed DNS on my router and computer and everything is cool now.

Peggy, you make Happy Time (Ding)

Most places it will be like a 4 day weekend here.

134
If "G" buys up and takes over... my port will disappear from there.

Put on your glasses  :D

no glass dammit : (  did you make this by taking a series of shot in a parallel line and then choosing the left and right eye?

I just shot with the left eye in viewfinder... slid the camera over to the right eye and used the same focus point and shot again. I have a program I picked up for free on the net that does the anaglyphs.

Yes, Yes, now you have my attention, and that program is? ???  ;D

It should work for that. I have it to "exclude" my privacy policy page so I can link to the policy at the bottom of the page instead of the list..

139
Maybe something set up with a 301 redirect from your blog? I think it can go something like this.

Get "Simple 301 redirect" plugin. Get "Exclude Pages" plugin. These are free. Click on "Add New and put int the name. Activate both of them. Make a new page and tick the do not include in list box. Set up your 301 to look like it is going to that page but instead it goes to your Smug Mug Page.

Make links to that page in your site like in the header or some thing. Then when they click it... they go to your Smugmug.

Modify the method to however you want to go with your store.

I have not tried this yet but it is in my plans to do something like this with affiliate stuff.

Sean, have you found your new inspiration for a blog post yet?  ???

I think he's trying for the #1 spot on Google for 'Underwater Basket Weaving'

Ya know...that would be a very unique niche but everyone has heard about it though. Might be something there to monetize a blog.

The absolute Micro Guru (my opinion) to ask about beginning in Micros rarely comes here. He hangs in the Istock site forums under the name Lobo.

He is easier to access than Yuri Acurs (who does pop in here from time to time).

As far as cameras, I shoot Nikon and I am eyeballing the D7000 here lately. Can't tell you about Canons.

I think it is more like "out of the nose of babes" with this. :-\

Off Topic / DADDY'S GONNA EAT YOUR FINGERS
« on: June 24, 2011, 13:32 »
I  was packing for a business trip and my three year old daughter  was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one point  she said, 'Daddy, look at this' , and stuck out two of her  fingers.

Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out  and stuck her tiny fingers in my mouth and said ,'Daddy's  gonna eat your fingers,' pretending  to eat them.

I went back to packing, looked up again  and my daughter was standing on the bed staring at her fingers  with a devastated look on her face.

I said,  'What's  wrong, honey?'

She replied,

'What  happened to my booger?'

louoates thats why yours is selling more than mine. You got dirt. I just have sand.

I will try some shots tonight of the ankle. All I got so far is this quick shot.
Oh, do I need to sign my own model release for this?

Ooooo purdy  ;D  You will have to sign your own model release as the model and photog and a witness but I'm sure you knew that.  I still have a hospital plastic and rubber ankle brace from when I sprained the crap outta my left ankle a few years ago...hmmm....

Hey on the subject of feet and toes ya think there's a market for ingrowns?  My boyfriend has them bad.

I don't have ingrown toenails. Both big toes had the sides of the toenails perm. removed due to that back about 1988. I had them bad in High School.

I have done worse than that. One time I sprained all 4 ligaments in the ankle.. just simply walking in the back yard. Felt like I was going to pass out. Was off work for 2 weeks with crutches, pain meds and all. Swelled up bigger than a softball. Thought I broke it actually .

Do you think the Micros would take a shot of a sweet looking sprained ankle. Mine is bruising up nicely now. Maybe a Shot against white would do?
