What happens to the exclusive images?
They earn less than before, no different from non-exclusive.

Would you like to explain in what way? Thanks.
All the relevant info is here:
https://www.alamy.com/terms/contributor-contract-changes.aspx
Be sure to check out some of the new clauses in the contract as well as the commission reductions. These worry me even more than the pay cut.

I wonder what i missed. It seems that the exclusive images still get 50%. I have opted out of certain distribution sales.

What else are you worried about? Selling RM as RF?

Pond5 / Re: How has Pond5 been in 2021?

My exclusive account has been a disappointment. Even though I give my best clips to it, there have been few sales.

New worst rpd since becoming exclusive in 2008 ...

Would you mind sharing your rpd? Mine is 2 for this year. It was 1.76 last year.
Oh, well done. Is that photos only or a mix of photos / illos / video?
I had $1.51 rpd last Feb and $1.05 this Feb. Photos only.

I have less than 30 clips and less than 4000 photos.

I haven't seen any changes from DM yet.

Did you click Sync?  ;D

Should be there now. Good luck.

I suppose I should disclose, 0.43 RPD a whole 10 downloads. But there are some circumstances. I only have 935 images left, no more audio and they disabled and removed 3,657 of my images. So I don't have as much working for me as many others do.

Thanks! It's strange that my DM does not download statements anymore, even after I received the payment.

Yes, I have downloaded the latest DM.

I have sold 8 and remain in Level 1.

Something odd happened to me.

One sale for $48 was made on Jan. 28, on top of other sales. But my Feb payment amount is $35. How can it be?

I don't see any adjustments.

The final payment seems to be correct.

Pond5 / Re: One dollar video sales
« on: December 11, 2020, 09:50 »
Well, P5 has asked me to agree to giving video clips for free. Even after I said no, they continue to ask me to reconsider, saying they would give away 1-4 clips per artist, and that's minimal in their mind.

If we give away our work for free, we would also lose copyright control over our work. We will no longer be able to tell if it was a copyright infringement or not. Even if an agency sells for $1 or less (that's terrible, too), there are paper trails of transaction and license agreement in place.

The particular clip they want to give away was a time lapse from a very unique location. I have said explicitly that I would not permit any of my work to be given away for free.

Glad he has a big heart, that's rare these days.

Not a good month, I am not surprised.

But it's still far more reliable than Alamy. At least I get monthly payment with 3000+ images and a handful clips.

Where did you see the statement? I checked DM and ESP website and could not find the data.

Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can find Franky?

I have some problems with DM and emailed him. It's been about a month, he hasn't replied yet.

My initial problem was I could not make any submissions.

Then when I tried to add my iStockphoto login in my DM, it worked. But my general ESP authentication failed. I did not make any changes to the user ID and password because they are remembered by the system.

Thanks, SS.

I have sent Franky an email. DM keeps uploading and uploading, but cannot finish.

I got mine too.

Is DM working? I haven't been able to upload since last week.

Worst month since 2017 since DM was used to record sales.

Wow, they've taking $16 from me. I've deleted all my products, will terminate my account. Took years to make that money, now I'll never see it. Got to love this business.

Just saw your update. Are you able to delete your account? Are there any money left?

146
I had no idea about this. If you miss the email, they take your money. I'll have a look now. If they take any money from me, I'll terminate my account. Lucky I didn't waste much time with them.

Just be careful, because you will not be able to cash out from their website if your balance is below $50. Let's know how it goes.

147
Pete, thank you!

Just a minor thing, I did have sales within the 15 months. Actually, one sale was in June 2019.

After they started to make deductions, I had one more sales, because they would not close my account.

They have neither paid me nor closed my account.

Now I am going to complain to the Redwood Better Business Bureau next week. Don't want to start a complaint on Friday.

Hummm well I can't imagine "stock sites really doing that. 🤔However there was this German stock site that did charge me a small fee when I first joined. It was only a one time fee for foreigners mostly.  ::) But for a company like Zazzle and their reasoning to me is a bit twisted, but they do mostly your images on their provided products. So maybe it has to do more with maintaining all those functions with the site its self and less on the service of selling your image on your behalf. In other words they do so much more then stock sites do. One service compared to many different services. 🤷

For me it doesn't really affect me that much right now but I really still don't like that policy.
Envato Elements is doing basically the same - they call it the content upload bonus.  When I qualify for it, I get about $300 of monthly bonus, when I don't upload and don't qualify - 75$. So the difference is $225.

If you are ok with it, it's your choice.

As soon as I received the email, I requested the payout and termination on the same day. I have never agreed to be any part of it.

That was 7 months ago.

This is the initial email from Zazzle on September 15, 2019. Even though I stopped contributing, I had sales in June 2019.

Hello,

Youre receiving this email because weve noticed you havent created any new Products or had any Referral Sales on Zazzle for at least 15 months. To keep the marketplace fresh and engaging, we urge Designers and Associates to stay actively contributing on the site.

To address this minimum level of activity in the marketplace, we made a change to our User Agreement. As of April 1, 2019, accounts that are non-contributing that is, havent either (1) published a public Product, or (2) had a Referral Sale attributed to that account for the previous 15-month period will be charged a small monthly Non-Contributing Account Fee. (You can check your regions fee by clicking here.)

To be clear, Zazzle will NEVER charge your debit/credit card or PayPal account for these fees. Non-Contributing Account Fees can only be deducted from existing Earnings you may have in your Zazzle account (that is, royalties, Referral Fees, volume bonus and any other compensation owed to Designers and/or Associates). You will be charged until your account becomes contributing, or until your Earnings balance reaches zero. You can never have a negative balance because of Non-Contributing Account Fees.

Wed much rather have you adding Products to the marketplace again or growing your business with Referral Sales rather than incurring a fee, but you can avoid it by becoming a contributor again. How? Upload new Content and publish it to the marketplace as a public Product or have a Referral Sale attributed to your account before the start of next month. Your account will then be deemed contributing again for the next 15 months and your Earnings will not be affected by a Non-Contributing Account Fee. Continuing to contribute Content and Products to the marketplace is the best way to grow your business on Zazzle and avoid any future Non-Contributing Account Fees. If youre unable to change your account to contributing status before the beginning of next month, well deduct a Non-Contributing Account Fee, if your Earnings balance is greater than zero. This is in accordance with our new User Agreement, which is published here. For more details on these changes, we encourage you to check out this help article on the issue.

We look forward to having you back!!

Thank you,
The Zazzle Team

Thank you, k-t-g and Jo Ann.

I don't care about $37 or $47, it's important that this kind of practice is exposed and condemned.

I only wish to get moral support from those who care.
