"It is obvious that you don't understand the language of my website. I do not resell the image, I'm selling a product with the picture on it not the picture itself. And that is allowed because the picture is from shutterstock and therefor royalty free.
If you don't like that your pictures are used, don't put them on Shutterstock or change your pictures in the EDITORIAL status. But just in case: I've removed your picture from our website."
One thing that's OBVIOUS is you should be getting more than the subscription price.

Oh, and one more thing about iclipart, last time I checked they don't credit illustrators on the item pages.. That's even worse than paying %20 commissions.

Is it definitely a Getty site? Do Getty own Vital Imagery Ltd.?

I think contributors should make rational decisions as to where they upload images. If you're not happy with the site - don't upload there. If you do vectors, naturally Vectorstock seems like the logical place to go, but even a site like Fotolia, that has been criticised for lowering prices, is paying four times more for a vector image than Vectorstock. I guess you can always give the stuff away, but your also warping the business for the rest of us.
If they improved the pricing policies I would tempted to upload some images.

An adjustment of pricing is something they probably had to try because the old structure just wasn't working.
I hope it works for them and improves contributor returns.

I've noticed that if you don't upload new images to DT you seem to drop off the radar.
No new files = less sales.

If banding appears after generating a jpg from the eps, in my experience if you look closely, it's already in the initial file. When this happens I use a blends instead of gradients to get rid of the banding.

Fotolia gives me the XL price for my 12MP camera shots and XXL price for larger images that I've made using a scanner. I've been considering upgrading to a 16MP camera to get the higher return.

I didn't get the mail either - I think 123rf might have had a problem with how this mail was sent. And as pointed out, why no site mail on this as well as e-mail? I can't buy the "check your spam filters" when (a) so many didn't get it and (b) I regularly check my spam filters and it wasn't there either.
Important changes like this should be clearly communicated - such as a popup when someone logs in or visits the site, sitemail, some other positive-confirmation method so the agency is sure the contributor has actually received the notification.
I hasn't received anything either. Communicating this change through MSG is totally unprofessional. Plus this special treatment of MSG contributors is unfair.

499,999 if from iStock.
249,999 if from Shutterstock.
I always thought the 500,000 / 250,000 was refering to a press run were as something like an album cover is more like a product. But when does a buyer actually need to buy an EL?

CORRECT.
So true, when I first got involved with microstock as a buyer I couldn't believe the prices. I'd just download the high resolutions images for comps and if they got the green light it was just one less step in the production process. Even today when I need a special image for a project I end up downloading more than I need. The return on the picture that I use will easily cover the costs of the others.

The StockFresh site is well designed and contributor friendly. The images they use as examples are selected by someone with good taste. I've been getting regular monthly sales but nothing to write home about. More buyers is all they're missing.
