Completely understand the concept, but my point is that they DO sell the images of the subject they have refused from me. I wouldn't write this post otherwise. I see similar images to what they have refused selling well. Don't tell me it's because my images are bad quality and so on. If they were, they wouldn't have been accepted anywhere else.
I don't understand the acceptance criteria at FT. No one really does. I also have many files that sell elsewhere that FT refuse. That's the way it is. I don't agree with it but Its not worth worrying about. If I did I would be suffering from depression by now. There have been many similar threads on this issue. My attitude is submit once. If they accept great, if not, crack on with next submissions.
+1
Exactly. Trying to make sense out of FT rejections is detrimental to your emotional and mental health. Best is to shrug it off and move on.

My RPD for the past twelve months is $1.24.

The OP already said that they are specializing on a different segment in the image market. It reminds me of a site a long time ago called justmacros.com. Unfortunately it did not last very long. Macrografiks looks well-designed, and I see no harm in submitting a bunch of images and see how it goes. I wish them well.

I have continued to upload to SF even though sales have been slow. I have about 1400 online now. The site is well built, uploads are easy, reviews are fair, so I think there is hope for improved sales.

I'm really glad You decided to make this change. It will make creating designs much easier. I'm also registered contributor in Your site. Maybe could You tell when approximately we could expect for the new jpeg uploading system?
We hope to have it soon. Once testing is done we'll let all of the artists know.
That's good news and will motivate me to upload again.

Thank you for listening and for trying to address our concerns. That does not happen very often in this industry.

Same here, if I click on my username it says 2128 files in my portfolio, if I go to the dashboard it says 738.

A little bit of something can be better than a whole lot of nothing. I am willing to let the new scheme run for a bit to see how it pans out. But I suggest they bump up the web price to 0.2Euro which is roughly 0.25 cents.

Easy upload, fast reviews, reasonable sales, bug free site, I'm ok with that. Wish there were more places like that.

So THAT'S why contributor commissions were cut via RC copy cats.
Seems strange to advertise stock images to the general public, like having SS advertise on Times Square.

Driving around in Kaohsiung I was surprised to see city buses with 123rf advertising their images. Never seen stock photo sites advertised this way. Hope it works. This is just a screen grab from my dashboard camera. Screenshot-PICT0055.AVI-1 by Shi Yali, on Flickr

I stopped uploading as well, no sales in nine months or so. My tiger is just a toothless stuffed animal it seems.

I thought I would give them a try. I've had several sales and have an RPD of around the $10 mark, way above any of the other micros.
I thought long and hard about whether or not to sign up because of the wider ranging license but in the end thought it was worth a try because of the decent prices and higher compensation levels. I figure that a lot of buyer will not be making use of the extra terms plus some will be buying that would not have bought an extended license on the other sites and would still me making extended license use of the image.
How large is your portfolio with them?

yes, things aren't perfect there, but let's put a polite face on for the guests, lest they think MSG is full of critical, ungrateful whingers.
I agree, it doesn't hurt to be civil. It's part of being professional.

Based on our policy, a free festival or parade in a public area would not require credentials as the event is open to the public and does not take place on private property.
Thank you for clarifying, this is very helpful.

As far as the sticker vs badge that reminds me of the one event shutterstock even helped me get into. I never received a badge. They didn't give them out all they gave out was stickers.
Granted I'm sure that would be fine as shutterstock setup the credentials but I'm not sure I will always get a badge.
The second part is there are a few free music fesitvals, and even some sporting events that go on in this area that are open to the public (mainly bike or foot races), no barricades, no tickets, nothing. You just show up walk in and enjoy. How would a situation like this work out? It's all public land, public access. Hell some of these evens like the bike races they are held on public streets DURING normal traffic time and so you have cars on the track with the riders.
There all types of public non-ticketed events such as parades, carnivals, fitness runs and walks, religious parades and processions, free concerts, etc. The new rules are too vague and cover too much territory. I guess for those things you may have to "shoot first and ask later" if you can submit without credentials.

This is worded very broadly, e.g. festivals includes tons of street activity, parades, food stalls, etc. It rules out an awful lot of stuff.

Have used it for about four years. Works very well, I use it mostly for online purchases. Haven't tried the ATM function yet.

Is it possible for people who already have a site to join the network? I have a site with Photoshelter and would be very much interested in the network if it's a possibility.

I think it is only US sales are taxed with the 30%..usually in the payment details..it shows an amount of US sales and the tax..
back to the question..is there a way to avoid the tax legally?
someone mention to set up a company..does it mean to get tax in our own country instead of US?
anyone know details?
Yes, thankfully only US sales get taxed. It goes by country of residence, not passport nationality. Setting up a company in a tax-treaty country will involve considerable expense on a continual basis. It's only worth it if you are big stock earner.

Those are partner sales at Imageclick, a Korean image site I think. At YAY you can selectively opt out of partners where you don't want to sell your images. It's quite transparent.
