General Stock Discussion / Re: StockSubmitter alternative?« on: September 26, 2016, 00:15 »Thanks for your reply, this software is no doubt great but when I was looking at their pricing, to me it look over-pricedIf all your files have the required Metadata you should be able to submit all your images in one month or two then switch your subscription to a lower type or even to the free one, this way you will save a huge amount of time 204
VideoBlocks / Re: The thing that bothers me with VideoBlocks.« on: August 11, 2016, 22:15 »Overall I like VideoBlocks. The 100% is obviously great, the $49 for HD is ok, and the site is pretty user friendly. They heard you, it's now 84% off and 149$ per year 205
VideoBlocks / Re: The thing that bothers me with VideoBlocks.« on: August 08, 2016, 01:42 »I've never put too much stock in the map... my last couple of sales must have been from ships captains, pirates or oil rigs, as they're somewhere in the Atlantic. Heheh... me too, but it's all about VB taxing everything 206
VideoBlocks / Re: The thing that bothers me with VideoBlocks.« on: August 07, 2016, 15:46 »So yeah, on Envato, if you've filled in the W8 then you won't have tax withheld on non-US sales. Based on the amount of info provided and preparation Envato did to get people ready for it, I'm going to assume that Envato are doing it correctly. Either way, they can't both be right, so one of them is withholding (or not withholding) taxes incorrectly. I don't know really, but after years of watching SS map, I know that my buyers are mostly EU and Middle eastern.. almost all my content is related to Middle Eastern countries and for sure it's impossible that all buyers on VB are from US, that's why I'm complaining from getting tax on all my sales there 207
VideoBlocks / Re: The thing that bothers me with VideoBlocks.« on: August 06, 2016, 16:34 »Have you not filled out a W8 form? Yes, they don't give payout without that (I think that).. they have to take 33% from my country's residents, but I don't know why they do that with non US sales.. I've e-mailed them long ago and they told me that they don't know how SS and Ft manage taxes this way and that they have to do it this way.. sometimes I feel suspicious about VB, if they take that 33% it would be huge income for them 208
VideoBlocks / Re: The thing that bothers me with VideoBlocks.« on: August 06, 2016, 08:18 »What really bothers me is this 33% tax on all my sales: US and non US, unlike all other agencies. For me I get more with regular P5 sales (50%=39$) than those from VB (100%=33$), that's the real sadness That's won't change things much for me if it will be on US sales only, like SS and Ft. On SS a little part of my sales is from US, the majority comes from Europe, Middle East than the rest of world.. I wouldn't mind P5 taxes on US sales if VB removes taxes on non US sales.. Last month was my BME on VB (25 sales!), so you can imagine my disappointment when I saw taxes numbers 209

Pond5 / Re: P5 Exclusives« on: July 15, 2016, 01:42 »Why not? I am willing to make some clips exclusive to see how it works. They did not ask for artist exclusivity, some of my clips are only available on P5 anyway. I'm also interested in checking some of my clips as "exclusive", anyway all my highly priced clips are already exclusive to Pond5.. this way the buyer will know that he will not find those clips anywhere else, also those clips will be more noticeable in searches. 216

General - Stock Video / Re: Anybody participating Pond5 membership program? If so, how's revenue?« on: May 18, 2016, 00:42 »It is the second time that I read that once the customer runs out of the 5 or 10 cips from the membership, he has to buy them from the marketplace. This not true.. The membership collection is really small with many missing areas. The strange thing is the disappear of buyers.. I have 2000 clips where more than half of my collection is unique (specific to Middle east), there is no competition for me, despite that my sales dropped 60-70% since February.. my clips still at the top in the search results with no membership competition.. I wonder what's really wrong with P5 those days 219

General Stock Discussion / Re: YouTube "spits" on your DMCA notices« on: February 26, 2016, 16:02 »
I have a friend who have many video songs on youtube registered by a big company as it's their own, they are pirates, and Youtube refuses all my friends' disputes and proofs that he is the real owner. It's very easy for Youtube guys to know that my friend is the real owner, he have the real song without any logos and overlays, but they don't care. His clips has more than 12 millions views and all the money goes to the pirates..
