Light is essential no matter its photography o anything else. But necessary part is composition. And for good composition one require good imagination. The same object can be viewed by all but is imagined in mind variously by different people. So better imagination inspires the photographer to take shots in a unique way with impressivel outcome.

Attilla!  is right here,  you have been milking us for weeks now. Its about time you stand on your own two feet, learn from your mistakes, same as the rest of us. Understood?
why ? can't one express his thoughts here in common forum ? its so unfriendly to hear so...

General Photography Discussion / Re: Some Lovely Shots of Diwali
« on: December 08, 2011, 01:29 »
along with diwali that is celebrated in October/November,there is another festival of colours in India and in other countries celebrated by Hindus and others known as "Holi" (in February/March) that is played by colours only (wet and dry powders) which are called Aheer and Abhir one is red and other is green. Though there are several colors are available. I will try to take shots during holi but as my cam is not water proof so i do hesitate to go outside during that festival with my dslr. :-)
Try to Google it or search anywhere with keyword "Holi" and see the pix

All that said, I guess it's better to have files searchable but not in your port, than in your port but not searchable.  ;)
I can accept even if these 2 conditions are failed but can not tolerate if credits for sale of my photos dont come into my account. He he he

That you can NEVER be sure of, you just have to hope that your trust isn't misplaced.

Yup, Bugs R Us, I'm afraid. New pics weren't appearing for ages, then they all appeared at once, but acceptances since then aren't showing up (my most recent in my port was uploaded on 27th. I then stopped uploading while they sorted out the bug, and those from the 5th aren't 'in' yet.
In 'normal' times it usually takes 24 hours or less.
I'm afraid it's more of 'Patience, Poppet'.
but Eli, when i try to search my photos with keywords or the ID number of the photos then they do appear. But stil not showing my portfolio. When i click 'view my portfolio' it Says 'sorry. This portfolio doesnt exist.' lol sometimes its funny to handle IS.

does IS require any specific number of photos to be accepted after which the portfolio comes to existence ? Because my 5 photos have been accepted by IS and i am unable to see or find my portfolio after 48 hours of acceptance of my 5th pic. Is it also due to bug problem in IS or what ?

the sad thing is these guys will never learn or acknowledge THEY are the problem !

i've seen the same sh-it in many other companies.

they will blame the euro, the dollar, the bad economy, and finally the contributors too !

never ever they will blame themselves ! they still think to be the king of the hill, no matter if SS is kicking their a-ss and contributors are leaving in droves, they're probably not even aware of that.
Truly said..!

It's now well over a year since I've been banned from iStock forums for telling uncomfortable truths.

However, as they're so buggy, from time to time, I'm able to post.

So about a month ago, I posted about two bugs. These posts were deleted, and in each case, a day or two later, the bugs were reported again. In the last couple of days, I posted a request for a keyword (there would be no point in me uploading a photo without that keyword, as it already has four unrelated DAs in other languages) and a note of a necessary - and constantly repeating - batch wiki.

I'm just uploading an image, and noticed a mistake (mis-spelling) in a DA of an important keyword. I was just about to post a note in the keywording forum about it when I noticed that my two most recent posts have also been deleted.

What on earth is the point of that?
Why do I even bother?

This is the saddest part i hear about IS.. why to ban someone for telly some truth... even one of my friends has been facing such problem. This is well proved that a community/society or whatever.. closed to new thoughts and people, more over deleting useful truth from their community never goes up,infact goes down.. (as IS going now)  instead of banning and removing views or suggestion from you or other people like you,if IS had considered them and tried to improve itself then it would have been much more better to it and people's opinion would have been different than today.. as we can see how many contributors are unsatisfied of IS.

I wish "Google" had an application to mark disliked sites.. The more the site got those "dislikes" the deeper it would get buried to last pages of google search..

I am sure no company would then risk their good relations with visitors or members.. Contributors or buyers.. They would equally be important to the sites..

Just imagine 100.000 contributors voting "dislike" on istock sending it to the bottom of google search!

Perfect World!  :D

I think we should suggest google a change in this direction.. We would need nothing else to keep the sites in good standard!
:-) really a noble idea cidepix ! :-)

i also registered there. But have not received any confirmation email even after about 6 hours. They should try to impress the contributors atleast at their initial steps because "1st impression is the last impression"

290
Well, the math works.  It says on the site that contributors earn 75%, which on a $12 retail price would indeed be $9.00.  This is even better than SS!  I get daily sales there, but it takes a while at 33 cents per sale to get to $18.   :)
wow that sounds great:-)

Took me close to 3 years but I saw that I now have 1001 images on line.  I consider that a milestone especially with the tighter acceptance rate over the past year.
wow.. 1000 images in SS...! now as i am trying for approval in SS, i can understand what does 10001 images mean...
congrats !!! really its a great milestone :-)

Do share your thoughts about this...! :)
No. Your grace period is over. You have been milking this forum for several days, and basically we all are competitors. Many posters were very good-hearted to share their best advice, but you keep asking and asking and asking. You will need to do your own research from now on, as you can read more and more from the reluctant responses. I have been too good too to share some advice, also in private. To no avail. Once again do your own research and be happy.
The forums are made for the same. For questions and answers. And i am not forcing you or anyone else to answer my questions. And i have always thanked your pvt emails and still thankful to you. And not only you but i am thankful to all who replied and are still replying my pvt emails and love to share their experience and suggestions. And never ever asked me to stop asking anything because they are real Learner and they know everyone start with the same stage and learn from others. None has come to this world trained. Even i noticed that you (and no one else) minded my questions and from my 2 post onwards you had started saying that i have asked so many questions. And why not you tell about yourself. And then only i sent you email with my name and address. If you dont like my question then simply keep yourself away and be happy.
And though it is a microstock group site but if it had no place for alamy and other macro sites then there would be no separate section for these macro sites.

Oh really..? Though I am new... i think i should also contribute my few pix to this site...

Hello Admin and friends,
I am interested to know about the pole in different sections (like we get for micro sites) for Macro sites as well like alamy, getty corbis etc (though these 3 are of main concern )..
I would be quite interesting to see results and will be helpful for macro site (so for editorial photography) lovers.
I also encourage to include more sections also for the poles...

Thank you Karin and Stockastic..
please do me another favour and tell that if one guy fails his 1st QC then is he informed by alamy in time and after how many days/hours can he retry the QC...?
is alamy very specific or strict for noise ? as i posted 4 pix last night and now when i look one of those pix i found moderate level noise in a portion of photo.. damnn i could not see that.. but its not that much as shown by alamy QC help section in an example photo... what are the chances that they don't qualify my 4 pix ?   ???

I've submitted a few ISO 640, 800 and 1600 images to Alamy with no QC failures yet. I did remove the chroma (color) noise but left the luminance noise slider alone in the RAW convertor. No noise reduction software used after either.

But i was informed last night only that my 1 pic was disqualified due to "soft or lacking definition"...

I wanna ask you people that can i just replace the failed pic with new one and resubmit with rest 3 old pix for my 2nd QC ?

Ok so finally 1 of my photo out of 4 images has been rejected in my 1st QC and it was true what i had doubt about that image, alamy commented the same. strange that it has been selected in DT.
but can i submit rest 3 photos again with a replacement photo of the 4th failed one ?  or better to submit whole new set of 4 images for my 2nd QC...? Let me tell you that rest 3 images has qualified my IS test and are also in DT... so can i take that risk ?
another thing.. is it ok to post images for my 2nd QC immediately or better to wait for few days before submitting photos again ?
