"I particularly love the folks who love calling those of us who have been in microstock for 15+ years clueless old timers.

I am clueless but not too old yet  :)

Sort of like the cool kids of microstock trash talked about us 'trads' 15 years ago?

And yet here you are, a trad, on a microstock forum. Just like all the other trads. Cant be all bad, can it? I bet youve taken your fair share of money from low life microstock sites, right?  ;D

Looks to me you so very much missed the point.

Nope got it loud and clear.   ;)

but I do know a lot more then you do.

Apparently not, or you would know it should be but I do know a lot more THAN (not then) you do. 😂

Wow Cathy, you too? that surprises me. I expect nothing less from the usual trolls in here but you joining them and having a go at me as well? I thought you were one of the good people here like Jo Ann.
We all do what we do best...

I'll make more room for the trolls and better educated people by removing myself.

Thanks Tyler for having this available to us contributors. Like I said before many of us would be in the dark if it wasn't for this forum. I don't know what I was thinking though joining the discussions because I knew it would turn out like this. This is exactly why many stick to reading instead of posting. Lesson learned  ::)

To all contributors, best of luck in everything you do, we're all in this together (most of us anyway) and stay safe!

LOL people can dish it out, but when a grammar error is pointed out, they leave. Hes over there ragging on farbled, but for some reason, he thinks I shouldnt be able to jump in. How many times have I been on the butt end of the bullies here? Too many to count. And look, he even got a +1 for his knockdown of me. You need a thick skin to be in this forum. I dont stay because of all the great friendships I hope to make, though there are some decent, intelligent, talented people here. I only stay because I still sell images. Otherwise, why stick around for all the abuse?

I particularly love the folks who love calling those of us who have been in microstock for 15+ years clueless old timers. LOL

Jonny is selling more.
https://sec.report/Document/0001179110-20-008739/
He sold 0.5% of his stocks this time. I don't have previous statements archived, but I think he've sold around 2-3% of his assets since March. It is not a big deal, but why now?

85,000 shares at $55 = $4,675,000

What could anyone want with $4.6 million dollars instead of a stock that was trading for $20 less a share in June?  ???

Maybe he's serious about wanting to spread out into new ideas?

He still owns 16,001,327 shares, which is $880 million for a rainy day.

Why not now?  ;D
You are right. The price difference is huge. Of course, it is not fair trading, he is an insider. Uncle Pete, isn't there a law against it in US, how big a trade should be (in percentages) for it to be suspicious trading triggered by insiders information?

Thats why hes been selling bits at a time. He cant sell all shares at once. Clearly its not insider trading, otherwise the SEC would be all over his ass. I should think.

Envato / Re: Envato Certified as a B Corp
« on: August 07, 2020, 07:09 »
Here is an alternative view

https://theconversation.com/b-corp-certification-wont-guarantee-companies-really-care-for-people-planet-and-profit-124459

Yeah, all it takes is money. B Corp certification is available to for-profit companies that apply to B Lab, a non-global profit organisation, and pay for it.

Kind of like the FDA approving every harmful drug out there, under the guise of helping mankind.

Yes, the 90 days will expire. If you turn your port off on Jan 1, they can sell images according to the agreement until April 1. Whether they legally honor that or not is a different conversation. As far as SS actually turning peoples port back on, I have read the posts regarding that claim and didnt see where that was actually the case.

If Adobe gets enough partners to implement this it will be really beneficial on many levels but as content creators for sure it is a welcome feature.
I think this is the most exciting thing created by Adobe in a long time.

Basically blockchain?

They move from a highly immoral action (enforce the new payment plan without prudent notice) to an illegal action (to sell content no longer authorized for sale by the author).

Its not illegal. Its in the contributor agreement that your stuff can be sold for 90 days after you deactivate or close your account. Clients use comp images or videos in projects. Then later they need to actually buy the high rez. SS sells it to them.

Excellent work! Thanks.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Contributor Down?
« on: August 01, 2020, 13:57 »
Must be fixed, I just went to my account ok.

You still have a SS account. I thought you are leading the boycott. Do you still upload to them?

The topic is the Adobe Stock Contributor site. Yes, I have an account at Adobe. No, I dont have images at SS, I deleted them all. No, Im not leading the boycott. Yes, I am most definitely supporting the boycott. How about you? Or are you just another anonymous troll here to stir the crap and not contribute anything useful? I see youve made 12 posts but have only been here just shy of a year.

Selling illustrations is perfect for people who depend on a wheelchair, who have no voice, who cannot hear, who have mental problems and so on, its a big big chance for them and part of their daily therapy to be accepted by the society.
By the way, the term "underdeveloped country" is politically not correct.

You should know by now that this isnt a PC-kinda forum. 😀

not funny -- trump has made all sorts of rude, obscene, racist, sexist, etc behavior more frequent and it needs to be called out

Is Trump on this forum? 🙄 You are bound and determined to compare me to Trump. LOL. I hate him as much as you do.

I think you also imagine that if you insult me enough, Ill leave. Not happening. I am no more rude than you and a lot of others here. Give it up.

If you go to the top of this thread, you can see some trolling going on. Just to bring the conversation back around to the topic. Speaking of trolls, I gotta stop feeding you.

Over the years, I worked for 2 or 3 companies that ended up in trouble. You start to recognize the signs. They get rid of the bottled water cooler, no more free popcorn in the employees lounge, etc. Layoffs.  Then on payday everyone rushes to the bank to cash their checks before the money runs out. The final straw is when you get to work in the morning, and the doors are locked because rent hasnt been paid for months. And yet top management still lives the life of luxury. Sigh.  :( I generally dont wish ill will on people, but I really hope this happens to SS. Except the only ones who will pay are the honest-working employees. Oringer et al have squirreled away their billions, so what do they care.

Got a 34c today for video. Makes the 60c one look good!

  :-X

It's your own fault for leaving them online at SS while you already know for weeks they're selling for peanuts, so why complain here when you can also simply remove them?

I was just pointing it out. I know what SS are doing.  I do not upload footage anymore and will remove my portfolio in January. Not sure its my fault. People on this site are very quick to blame others and be negative to others. One of the reasons I don't really follow this forum as much as I did years ago. No doubt I will get negative quotes back. Seems the way of the world now online.

You are getting screwed, you know you are getting screwed, you complain about getting screwed, and yet you stay to keep getting screwed. How can you expect positive comments from that?

244
Today I had a sale for 2.96 although my pictures are permanently deactivated since 1.6. ... unbelievable!!!

If a client used an image in a comp, yes, SS will sell them the high rez, even if you have deactivated. Its in the contributor agreement.

245
Two other people responded to you, but youre just gonna keep on slammin me.  :)

And if anyone is 12, its you. Butthurt? OMG you are so funny and hip. Good grief.  ::)

Somethings better than nothing! Thats how they justify getting 10 cents royalties.

stop speaking for everyone or for me, i dont need the money for the photos i am selling

LOL and yet you point out that your earnings have dropped 90%. If you dont care, why would you even know that? Come on, admit it, you just wanted to show me up, as usual. You clearly do care.  ;)

But I do agree with your next to last paragraph. I have always done the same. By the way, I deleted my images off of SS, did you?

So now all microstockers are lazy? LOL  Stop speaking for me and all other microstockers. Some of us do/did all those other things you mentioned, you have no clue. You arent the only smart one here.  ;)

I am waiting for Jo Ann Snover's analysis!

Ditto! But I guarantee it will all be showing sunshine, lollipops, rainbows and unicorns.

I am living in a country with no social welfare benefits like unemployment money, food stamps or stimulus check like in America. The alternative would be begging in the streets.
I envy people who can quit SS and argue about their lost self-respect or wasted time, because they simply do not depend on the money from SS. In times of corona I do more than ever before.
I am self-reliant, I am self-employed, I am proud of me and I am getting the respect from my family and people around me. Ten US cents here might be more then 10 Dollars in rich countries. In my eyes protest against SS is as useless as anything. And I am wondering where this hate and ire comes from?
If people with provoking opinions are called TROLLs, I am one of them.

Everybody is struggling in these times of corona  ::) whether they get unemployment or not. Does the country you live in have a lower cost of living than the US? Im guessing yes. So everything is relative. And in the US, $1200 stimulus check doesnt go very far when someones out of work. And unemployment might help, but it doesnt pay the bills either.

Everyone SELLING photos needs the money they make; otherwise wed all just give our photos away. Which is basically what you do at SS now.
