Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Contributor Down?
« on: August 01, 2020, 13:57 »
Must be fixed, I just went to my account ok.

You still have a SS account. I thought you are leading the boycott. Do you still upload to them?

The topic is the Adobe Stock Contributor site. Yes, I have an account at Adobe. No, I dont have images at SS, I deleted them all. No, Im not leading the boycott. Yes, I am most definitely supporting the boycott. How about you? Or are you just another anonymous troll here to stir the crap and not contribute anything useful? I see youve made 12 posts but have only been here just shy of a year.

Selling illustrations is perfect for people who depend on a wheelchair, who have no voice, who cannot hear, who have mental problems and so on, its a big big chance for them and part of their daily therapy to be accepted by the society.
By the way, the term "underdeveloped country" is politically not correct.

You should know by now that this isnt a PC-kinda forum. 😀

not funny -- trump has made all sorts of rude, obscene, racist, sexist, etc behavior more frequent and it needs to be called out

Is Trump on this forum? 🙄 You are bound and determined to compare me to Trump. LOL. I hate him as much as you do.

I think you also imagine that if you insult me enough, Ill leave. Not happening. I am no more rude than you and a lot of others here. Give it up.

If you go to the top of this thread, you can see some trolling going on. Just to bring the conversation back around to the topic. Speaking of trolls, I gotta stop feeding you.

Over the years, I worked for 2 or 3 companies that ended up in trouble. You start to recognize the signs. They get rid of the bottled water cooler, no more free popcorn in the employees lounge, etc. Layoffs.  Then on payday everyone rushes to the bank to cash their checks before the money runs out. The final straw is when you get to work in the morning, and the doors are locked because rent hasnt been paid for months. And yet top management still lives the life of luxury. Sigh.  :( I generally dont wish ill will on people, but I really hope this happens to SS. Except the only ones who will pay are the honest-working employees. Oringer et al have squirreled away their billions, so what do they care.

You could contact support and ask. Mats on vacation, I think, or he would probably chime in.

Got a 34c today for video. Makes the 60c one look good!

  :-X

It's your own fault for leaving them online at SS while you already know for weeks they're selling for peanuts, so why complain here when you can also simply remove them?

I was just pointing it out. I know what SS are doing.  I do not upload footage anymore and will remove my portfolio in January. Not sure its my fault. People on this site are very quick to blame others and be negative to others. One of the reasons I don't really follow this forum as much as I did years ago. No doubt I will get negative quotes back. Seems the way of the world now online.

You are getting screwed, you know you are getting screwed, you complain about getting screwed, and yet you stay to keep getting screwed. How can you expect positive comments from that?

Today I had a sale for 2.96 although my pictures are permanently deactivated since 1.6. ... unbelievable!!!

If a client used an image in a comp, yes, SS will sell them the high rez, even if you have deactivated. Its in the contributor agreement.

Two other people responded to you, but youre just gonna keep on slammin me.  :)

And if anyone is 12, its you. Butthurt? OMG you are so funny and hip. Good grief.  ::)

Somethings better than nothing! Thats how they justify getting 10 cents royalties.

stop speaking for everyone or for me, i dont need the money for the photos i am selling

LOL and yet you point out that your earnings have dropped 90%. If you dont care, why would you even know that? Come on, admit it, you just wanted to show me up, as usual. You clearly do care.  ;)

But I do agree with your next to last paragraph. I have always done the same. By the way, I deleted my images off of SS, did you?

So now all microstockers are lazy? LOL  Stop speaking for me and all other microstockers. Some of us do/did all those other things you mentioned, you have no clue. You arent the only smart one here.  ;)

I am waiting for Jo Ann Snover's analysis!

Ditto! But I guarantee it will all be showing sunshine, lollipops, rainbows and unicorns.

I am living in a country with no social welfare benefits like unemployment money, food stamps or stimulus check like in America. The alternative would be begging in the streets.
I envy people who can quit SS and argue about their lost self-respect or wasted time, because they simply do not depend on the money from SS. In times of corona I do more than ever before.
I am self-reliant, I am self-employed, I am proud of me and I am getting the respect from my family and people around me. Ten US cents here might be more then 10 Dollars in rich countries. In my eyes protest against SS is as useless as anything. And I am wondering where this hate and ire comes from?
If people with provoking opinions are called TROLLs, I am one of them.

Everybody is struggling in these times of corona  ::) whether they get unemployment or not. Does the country you live in have a lower cost of living than the US? Im guessing yes. So everything is relative. And in the US, $1200 stimulus check doesnt go very far when someones out of work. And unemployment might help, but it doesnt pay the bills either.

Everyone SELLING photos needs the money they make; otherwise wed all just give our photos away. Which is basically what you do at SS now.

If its rights managed, the agency should be responsible for collecting payment. Thats what they get paid for.

I just did the deactivate Javascript and was able to post in the SS forum. Let's see if it stays there or gets deleted. I wonder what would happen if I posted the javascript by pass on the SS forum.  ;D

I saw a post about it earlier today on the SS forum. Wonder if they deleted it. 😂 edit: no, still there. In fact, a thread has been posted asking SS to fix the problem. 😀

Apparently disabling Java Script then allows posting.

What does that mean in English?

in your browser click on settings and under privacy and security you will find java script just add the forum address to the blocked sites for java

Yes, I was able to post from my ipad by going to Settings>safari and turning off javascript. It worked! I just turned it back on when I was done. Thanks for that tip! Looks like people have started posting the secret there, too. SS will be busy fixing that, Im sure.

Im magical.

Not so fast :)

I can't test because I'm banned, but can anyone non-magical post? Only Sean's post is newer than Tuesday afternoon at the moment

I checked this morning. I am not banned. When I try to reply, it wont let me type in the reply box. Its filled with gray. PS I am not magical.

I am also grayed out.  If it's because I posted a comment regarding the pay cut... 7 weeks ago... then how very getty of them.

I dont think its just you. I havent posted in their forum for years, and I cant post. I think its universal. Except for magicians. 🙂

Just heard back from 'support'. Apparently if I use my web browser rather than my mobile I will be able to post on the forum and pigs may fly. I will give up now or I may have to contact the Samaritans.

Not true anyway. I only log in from a browser and if I try to reply to a thread post, I get this (after I'm taken to the top of the page):

Yes, I just tried to post in the forum and I was not able to. The reply box is there, but you cant click in it because of that gray fill. Safari browser on ipad.

Cathyslife, don't understand what your full stop in your replay is supposed to say.

My hint that my images are still on google with the link to Shutterstock after deletion (even if clicking on it leads nowhere) means that this is some kind of advertisement for Shutterstock. At least the name of the company is there visible. Advertisement for Shutterstock with my deleted images? Is this ok?

You cant delete posts, so if you change your mind about saying something, all you can do is put a character in the box. Thats what the period means.

Your images will disappear from Google in time.

The forum link in the dashboard is still visible and active. I can read all the posts. But I cant reply to anything. As mentioned, the reply box is there, but you cant type in it. Frankly, Im not surprised, but its not going to deter people. We will find a way to keep getting the message out.
