I guess the old Fotolia page is now dissolved? Never to be seen again?  :(
Also I think there's a bit of a bug. You can upload a zip file containing your EPS10 file with JPG but if you just upload the EPS10 file, the app complains that your art board is too large. What's up with that?
Also now those links in everyone's sig with the little icon needs updating. I think they no longer lead to a user's Adobe port.  Just thought I mention.  :)

No, Fotolia is still up and running.

It's likely the error message you are receiving regarding your vector is that the artboard is too small. It must be at least 15MP for a direct upload.

Adobe Stock / Re: Payment Delay at Adobe?
« on: April 12, 2018, 02:39 »
Mat, I have a payment that's been pending since Apr 1, and now I have about $75 in sales I can't request payment. There haven't been any large sales that should hold anything up. I couldn't find any contact info anywhere on the site.

Should I go to the Fotolia site to get help? And speaking of which, will these two ever be merged?

Generally payments are made within a week of the request. There can be delays from time to time, I apologize for any you may have encountered. If any of you are still waiting for a payment request submitted on or before April 1, please create a support ticket in the Contributor Portal and I'll look into it for you asap.

I'm working in Paris this week so my response time is going to be different than normal but I am checking emails and support tickets and will respond as quickly as possible.

Thanks,

-Mat

Some time ago it was 35, right?

The minimum payment has always been $50.

If I had to delete a video clip from Fotolia will it automatically delete from Adobe Stock?

Thanks for the advice.

Yes, your portfolio is the same at both sites.

Hi All,

Later today, the contributor portal is scheduled for routine maintenance and will be offline for approximately 1 hour. This will happen at 4PM Pacific time.

Thank you,

Adobe Stock / Re: Keyword order in Lightroom
« on: April 03, 2018, 10:17 »
Mat thanks a lot for your answer,
Beyond the important time spent prioritizing keywords I wonder about the relevance of the system. We know that the first keyword "weighs" the heaviest and that the 7th has practically no more impact in the search engine. This means that for a given theme, for example a family on the beach, all contributors, if they do their job well, will use the same or almost the same keywords.
At present with tens of millions of images covering the most popular themes and the growing number of new images arriving every month how the buyer can find what he is looking for without spending a crazy time looking through pages of images.
Not prioritizing keywords may allow more creativity in the search by allowing the buyer to choose from 20 or 30 keywords.
What do you think?

We have a very strong team dedicated specifically to search. I appreciate the feedback and will be sure to share it with the team.

Can't find anywhere on Adobe where it says sync with Adobe if you already have a Fotolia account.
The choice is either, 'Get Started' or 'I already have an Adobe ID'. I have an Adobe ID as subscriber to PS and LR but based on the experience of another poster here (RCerruti), I'm not going to enter that Adobe CC ID because it will probably reject all my already accepted Fotolia images.

So........where's the sync button because I don't see it?

Create an account using your existing Adobe ID. If the Adobe ID is the same as your email listed with your Fotolia account, the sync process will start automatically after you confirm your intent.

If it's a different email address you will be asked if you are an existing Fotolia contributor during the setup process. Select yes at which time you will be prompted to enter your Fotolia login name and password.

Adobe Stock / Re: Keyword order in Lightroom
« on: April 02, 2018, 09:49 »
I appreciate the feedback. The workflow I described it what I have found works best for me personally. It certainly isn't for everyone.

There is another option that will save you some time if all the keywords in the series are to be the same. I recommend you change the order on one file then click the "Paste Keywords" button in the upper right corner. Copy the entire list of keywords and paste them into the remaining files. You can do this by either pasting into the top box and clicking the tab key to distribute them or within the paste keywords section.

Thanks for the numbers @beboy, that's helpful. Adobe Stock does not sell .svg files. Those will remain only visible at Fotolia.

Kind regards,

Mat

Dear Mat, thank you for reply, yes most of my files are in .svg format. so my question is what should I do now!
can I reupload those in adobe stock in ai/eps format?

Thanks

No, you cannot resubmit the same file in a different format. You would need to first delete the svg version then submit the AI or EPS file. Doing so may result in a rejection of the file as there is no guarantee the review result will be the same.

Adobe Stock / Re: Keyword order in Lightroom
« on: March 30, 2018, 09:27 »
Hi Mat,
An improvement that would change the life of the poor contributor entering his images on AS, the possibility on Lightroom (I think 95% of photographers work on it) to choose the order of keywords, alphabetical or by order of entry.

It would be revolutionary and would save incredible time.

I know it doesn't depend on Adobe Stock directly but since Lightroom is an Adobe creation I guess the developers have to cross paths at the coffee machine from time to time ;)

I don't think it's very complicated to put this system back in place already existed on an oldest version of Bridge (another Adobe production)

I've asked the LR team about this very thing in the past. A big part of the appeal to LR is the organizational features. Removing alphabetized keywords would disrupt that feature and make it less organized for use beyond stock keywording.

In my personal workflow, all of my RAW conversions are handled in LR. For the sake of organization I use one main library and add one or two keywords to describe the shoot so I can find the images at a later date in Lightroom.

Once my conversions are done and I have exported my JPG files to my hard drive I then open the JPG files in Bridge and add my stock keywords there. Through Bridge, the keywords stay in the correct order and my LR library isn't overwhelmed with thousands of keywords that don't apply to the organization of the library.

I then use the drag and drop feature at Adobe Stock to upload. If you haven't tried drag and drop uploads for a while, I recommend you give it a fresh look in the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal. It takes an unlimited number of files and is pretty dang fast.

I understand your requests for either changing LR to keep the order of keywords as you have added them or to remove the relevance weight in the Adobe Stock search. I don't anticipate either of these changes taking place any time soon. My best advice is to update your workflow to simplify the process. My way might not be the best way, I would be interested to learn what others are doing. What I've described is simply the best way that I have found to make it work for me.

Thanks for the feedback,

Mat

Hi All,

Adobe Stock is hosting a workshop just before NAB in Las Vegas. It's coming up quick but there are a few spots left so if you are interested, please let me know asap. We've got some great models and a phenomenal location. Transportation from the Convention Center, food and beverages are provided.

This workshop is geared towards photographers wanting to learn more about flipping the switch to create sellable stock video. We'll be shooting in the field on Friday and learning Post Processing, indexing and more in the classroom on Saturday.

More information can be found here: https://nab18.mapyourshow.com/7_0/sessions/session-details.cfm?scheduleid=388

I hope to see you there!

Is there a way to conveniently set new thumbnails for footage files on the Abobe contributor site?

Not yet. This is one of the most requested features and I've communicated it to the development team loud and clear. Hopefully it will happen but I don't know when that would be.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Mat

Ok, I checked searching for a few my images in AS and found them. I'm still baffled by the fact that in the contributor panel I find them under Uploaded Files / Rejected, but the images are actually on sale.

Thank you for your support!

This issue has never been reported to me in the past.  Would you please send me a screenshot of your rejected files page that shows an image as rejected though it is actually online? My email is [email protected]

Thanks,

Mat

Hi Matt, I didn't notice this is option until I read this thread about a week ago.

(I've not been so much following microstock in the last years). Now I found and followed instructions and had the accounts synced (I already had an Adobe account as LR&PS user). All my 612 images on Fotolia went to rejected bin instantly (no time for human review), either for 'technical issues' (e.g. File ID: 59960808) or for 'file could not be accepted' (e.g. File ID: 60793638) or even 'SIMILAR IMAGE(S) ALREADY SUBMITTED' (e.g. File ID: 50543551).

Why this happened?
Thank you in advance!

The reviews are done manually by humans. I checked your uploads and see that it was fast but not automatic. Looks like you submitted just over an hour after you uploaded and they were reviewed about 3 hours after you submitted.

-Mat

Hi Mat, thank you for your reply. It still sounds odd to me that out of 612 photos accepted on Fotolia, not a single one was accepted on Adobe Stock. I still think I made some mistake in the procedure. I can not even find the way to contact support, or a forum on the website!

Are you submitting the same content separately to Adobe Stock and Fotolia? If so, that's a problem. Fotolia and Adobe Stock are one and the same. Any content that is approved via Fotolia is automatically online at Adobe Stock and vice versa. If you are submitting separately to two different accounts, that is essentially spam as you are sending the same files to both sites twice. Please contact me directly if this is the case so we can get it sorted out.

-Mat

Thank you again Mat,

no, this is not the case. What happened is that I synced the AS and FT accounts only at the beginning of the month. (I had never uploaded anything on AS). All the images I had on FL were immediately rejected on AS.

Roberto

There is no separation between the two sites. If it was approved at Fotolia then it is automatically online at Adobe Stock. If you tried submitting the same images again in Adobe Stock they would be rejected because you have already submitted the files.

That should be helpful. What I would really like to see at Adobe is some decent stats. For instance - sales per time period - how many sales per month for how much. How many times did a particular image sell.

Yes! I would like to see this as well. I've communicated this with the development team and I hope this will happen in the not-too-distant-future.

Thanks for the feedback,

Mat

Adobe Stock / New feature in Adobe Stock Contributor Portal
« on: March 22, 2018, 12:19 »
Hi everyone,

Indexing at Adobe Stock just got easier!  I'm happy to report that the development team has enabled a new feature allowing you to hover over the preview thumbnail to automatically view the full image. This should help streamline the indexing process for you.

We listened to you that it was too difficult to see all the details in the thumbnail to determine which releases and/or keywords are necessary. The new feature to display the full image when you hover over it addresses this.

As always, please keep the feature requests coming as we are listening and working hard to make the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal the best in the industry.

Adobe Stock / Re: Reached Emerald: should I increase prices?
« on: March 22, 2018, 09:00 »
Reached Emerald status a few weeks ago and wondering whether I should increases prices from the basic 1 credit to 2 credits.  I'm undecided - on the one hand I'd like to try for higher income, but on the other hand I don't want to destroy sales.

Do any other Emeralds have experience they'd like to share?

In my personal account I max out my prices. You may see a decline in credits based sales but the cut would need to be 50% or greater for the change not to be in your favor.

It's important to note that the price can only be increased on files that have been selling in the past 6 months. Any "unsold" files remain at the minimum so that will increase their chance of sales.

If you want to max out your prices, shoot me an email and I'll take care of it for you. [email protected]

Congratulations on reaching the milestone!

Adobe Stock / Re: what are "Subscription X" downloads?
« on: March 20, 2018, 12:21 »
Hi All,

The sales that are currently labeled "Subscription X" in Fotolia and "Extended" in Adobe Stock are from Enterprise sales. Enterprise deals have custom plans and you receive 33% of the purchase price. The sale information on your account page will be changed to Custom in the near future.

Thank you,

Hi Mat, when forolia started with adobe stock we were told we had to scinc the first time we logged in... I was never given the option. Just a question, can we now scinc even if its not the first time? If not may be its something to think about as I'm sure I can't be the only one avoiding using the adobe stock upload in case my images don't appear on ft as well.🙂

No, not if you logged into Adobe Stock. If you didn't sync to Fotolia when you first created your Adobe Stock account then what happened is the system created a new phantom Fotolia account so your uploads will be available at Fotolia in addition to Adobe Stock. This is different from any existing Fotolia account you already had. If you have a separate Fotolia account it is extremely important you only upload to one or the other. Do not submit the same content to Fotolia and Adobe Stock separately.

No, there is not an exclusivity program at Adobe Stock at this time.

[OFF TOPIC]
-I've just got an extended license sale of a file where the EL price is set to 100 credits. According to my ranking I should get 37% yet i've only got 16.5 credits. How is that possible?

Shoot me an email with your account info and I'll take a look. Extended licenses are 79.99 at Adobe Stock and the commission is 33% fyi.
