Adobe Stock / ID Request
« on: June 07, 2017, 12:05 »
I tried uploading some images directly to Adobe instead of through fotolia.

Now I am getting an email asking for a government ID- should not his have been done when I synched the accts?  Is this a scam/hack email?

May started out absolutely fantastic and then declined just as fast.

Sadly, others were even worse.

Thanks Matt, I will try the erase all.
I do not put keywords into meta data of images as part of usual workflow.  Not all my photography is meant for stock/internet.

I would like the option to turn of the autofill for keywords so that I can fill in keywords with  a simple cut and paste in a blank box.
It sometimes brings up one i had not thought but right now the interface is really time consuming for me.  I put my keywords in a list in the right order and then cut ans paste.
If there is an option to tun it off, then one can work for both groups.

Tine is better spent trying to get more customers to generate more sales.  For that little  commission, no way.

131
SS no downloads.  Others are ok or low, one very good for me.

Looks like he is imitating Richard Avedon with some changes in his portraits.

90% of images that they reject from me for that reason sell with other agencies ---- many of them within 24 hrs of posted and keep selling.

I do not resubmit. Perhaps what sells well on one does not sell as well on another.  What sells on Adobe tends to be different than what sells on others. That can be said for every agency.  My best sellers vary for agency to agency.

It is frustrating.  The reason is very subjective and I doubt any reviewer is infallible on that.

134
I stopped uploading to them when they announce the commission cut.
I cannot see that I will ever again.  I do not trust them or the accounting.  The cut was too drastic, I made 1/10th of my monthly income last month.

I do not think they are being honest about sales -- the whole new system has kind of Enron feel to it. Just not a good feeling about this company ---feel like the lack of transparency is intentional and/or can be too easily manipulated.

Suddenly SS rejected a property release they always accepted -- also was clear it was property of photographer.  At a loss.

My total sales are 10-25% of what my monthly totals were in the months before all the changes.

I stopped uploading when they announced the changes.  I won't be uploading more.

And to think I had thought of becoming exclusive before they pulled this because my sales were so much better there.   That is the key----were.  Seeing how they treat contributors, I would never go exclusive now.  I do not trust them.  Too much lack of transparency.  Lots of things.

Not sure if I will close it or not but won't be adding more thanks to above and seeing the 2 cents sales.

Are you waiting for QC for something?  It has happened to me when I tried to upload before last batch passed QC.  When it did, no issue.

and yet they reject some as similars where the main subject is clearly very different unlike these repeats with minor variations.  It makes no sense.

Same problem here -- spent hours waiting for only a couple of images to process last nught-- some never did, others duplicated 3 times.

It works fine for me.

Making manual focus through viewfinder as easy if not better then film cameras.
Making them more ambidextrous.
Less noise.
More able to shoot in low and indoor natural light.

Mine ia working but my unpaid earnings are at 0.00 which is NOT the caae when earlier today they were not and I can still see individual sales.

But I received an approval email that duplicated items approved when I did not send 2 of same image.

By poking around I found a page with balance forwarded.   Looking at that and Jan, sales, I am not sure it is worth uploading there anymore.  Doing better at other agencies now.

Before they did all this I was actually thinking about going exclusive because my sales were SO much better there but now the opposite-- just since Nov.

I finally got access.
Not impressed.   Made a lot more with other agencies during all that time.

Still no info on royalties.

I have no intentions of uploading anything until I see the $$$ and then I still might not.

It is sad that some people cannot distinguish between the two types of grain.

At least it made me laugh.... which is a good thing-- have friends in hospital now...so I do appreciate the laugh.

General Stock Discussion / Wood grain
« on: February 14, 2017, 22:57 »
Wood grain is not the same thing as grain noise.

Grain was the tern used in BW film photo, generally from film shot at high ASA.
Digital photos shot with low ISO (200 ISO or below) in lower contrast light with no shadows or dark areas and no PS manipulation other than to remove dust spot -- not noisy.

At least it was a rejection that made me laugh.  Oh well.

what is bothering me the most right now is that
1.  No longer getting emails thanking mt for submitting content
2. Under pending approval, the number is now inaccurate (less than uploaded)
