Dreamstime.com / Re: What's happened to Dreamstime?
« on: March 04, 2018, 02:04 »
For what its worth I thought I could chime in and let you all know that today was my best day ever with Dreamstime. Multiple sales from many multiple buyers outselling Shutterstock 12 to 1 and the day isn't over. Why a Saturday of all days  - who knows but I think its one of those lovely little anomalies that we all experience once in a while in the stock business.

I've been with Dreamstime for 7 years and for me its an agency that's never ruffled feathers. Their site is straight forward and easy to load. Their rates are as good as and often better than most agencies. They've been consistent and predictable since day one.

Yes, that happened to me too once, last December. A long row of big sales one after the other but when I look at lifetime earnings, DT is no better than BS or DP, not for me anyway.

I'm not sure who you're addressing here. Namussi is the one who insists people share their earnings and charts. Are you talking to him?

I am sorry Shelma, my reply was for Namussi.
I wanted to shorten all these quotes and I deleted the wrong part, I fixed it now, sorry.

178
Why not? You keep asking other people to share charts and earnings, but you're anonymous and refuse to answer a simple question about your earnings.

I'm asking him to share with the forum, not just me. So the question isn't really relevant. It's just another excuse. Another distraction.

I just want people to show some evidence of a cap, and stop making excuses.

i said by word how are my trend graph for three agency.
if i had evidence proof 100% I'm capped i will sue shutter stock in a pinch puppet, understand?
i told u my graph are straight for ss and they are like this only for ss..
i aseked u what is your level of earning from 100 to 400? 400 -1000? over 1000...i suspect you not even reach 50 dollar in ss but maybe i'm wrong.

They're vague descriptions. They are too vague to be considered evidence of a cap.

And suggesting that I may not have reached $50 makes you sound like a bully trying to avoid the point.

@namussi,
Why are you so aggressive? You are the one that is acting like a bully. Why should anyone share their charts just because you say so?

Many people are talking about some plausible, indirect evidence (not proof) that earnings are limited in some way, are they all crazy?
You are free to have any other opinion but don't bully people who think otherwise. This discussion is as old as stock itself and nobody has the right answer yet.

But that's a different point. It's a weaker claim.

Your claim was that there were different -- presumably you mean deliberately different --  results for big buyers of images.

Why would the stock agency want to create a different algorithm for big buyers?

What's the return on that effort?

It seems logical to me, but I haven't did any test.
It seems logical that a big buyer could ask to agency for "special" or "curated" search instead of loosing hours searching on zillions of similar images.

Also for normal buyer it seems logical that some searches results change: let's say for example I'm an asian buyer and I'm searching for "women" or "people". It's logical that algorithm gives more relevance to images with "asian" in keyword. Or not?

Anyway this is only my though.

And it's a side question, not linked to your original question: in fact, there could be or not differences in search, but this is only from buyer side, not from the author side.
So, about the cap, it doesen't matter, this issue has no relevance :-)

Of course, big buyers can ask  for "special" or "curated" search and results, that is why SS Premiere and other VIP services exist.
Theoretically, all our images can be a part of these VIP services at SS's discretion:

Regarding our Premier Editorial offering, photographers who contribute to the Premier Editorial collection have been selected by the assignment team based on their prior work in the news, sport and entertainment industry. While we are not currently accepting applications, we do evaluate contributors on shutterstock.com and in the past we have selected contributors to be a part of our Premier Editorial team.

Cap or not cap, we are not treated equally, neither are buyers.

It's been like that the whole day, every page refresh changes earnings back and forth.
Yes, the whole day, and after this started I had no new sales or I can't see them.

Dreamstime.com / DT enabled EL-s on all my files
« on: February 05, 2018, 09:32 »
I had my EL-s disable on all files. Today I went to upload some images and I found them enabled.
Please, do you know a way to disable them on all file at once.

Someone already talked about a method but I can't find it.

Thank you.

Got another 50 overnight. I thought this was fixed. It is very annoying and no reaction from DT.

Now DT staff have posted that it's a bug and "Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding."

I think email to contributors would be a good idea for those who haven't come to this forum or the DT ones, but I don't see anything yet...
I've sent an email to support when I opened this thread (more than 24 hours) and they didn't bother to answer. How can we expect them to notify everyone?
At least now we know where we stand with this issue.

I'm beginning to fee slighted - not a single request. :o

Don't be sad, it started again, he does night shifts too.
I closed the shop for today, no more authorization.

Yes, they keep coming and I think he is having a great time watching us how we jump to enable EL-s at his command.

I had a dozen or so, mainly of older stuff. I just deleted the emails. Obvious sham of some sort.

Could be,
He took a pause for an hour or so, then he came back for more. Could also be that he is not done yet selecting what he wants.
Of course that doesn't mean that he will buy something.

Today I have received only 12 such requests so far .... I have granted them but I am not sure if that was a good response.
I have 8 of them now, not all but most of them have 0 dowloads at DT, so from my part they can have them. They make no money anyway if they just sit there.
I am very curious how will this end?

It's just they are all different subjects, from backgrounds to food, construction work, Christmas decorations.....seams very suspicious. I hope they will not accuse me that I did it myself, like it happened to other contributors here with another agency.

Now another one. Should I report this or it is normal?
I think the emails I get are triggered but the buyers options making DT sent out an automatic email.
Thanks for any input.

edit: and another.

Can anyone please enlighten me how does this work?

I received 4 requests like this today and they keep coming but I don't see any new downloads.
Are these buyers just playing with us or they do buy something at the end?

Just made the full move to AS cause fotolia is off officially.

So there are no statistics?!?! How can I tell how much did I earn this month?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What do you mean? I still have the old FT unchanged, showing statistics and views, just checked.

I wonder if the judge would have ruled differently if the car company were the copyright holder.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Passive uploads
« on: December 22, 2017, 12:35 »
Hi,
Is there some agency except Shutterstock where I can submit photos and keep it passive?
I know about two others only where you can disable (deactivate) your files, DT and DP,if that is what you want to do.

Adobe Stock / Re: Please check the captcha box to sign in.
« on: December 18, 2017, 12:29 »
When I check FT from my iPhone, once in a while the Safari browser pulls this nonsense about the Captcha when I need to log in. I reload the page, try again and usually this works. I have never seen this problem with Chrome on my Mac

Same here, it happens once in a while with FF, but out of that I just log in without Captcha on the page.
Next time I know I have to change the browser.

Not sure what workaround you are asking for. Yes, there are ways to break through captcha but they are not exactly straightforward and there is a possibility to be deemed a security risk and have your IP blocked or something similar. First try to clear cache, remove cookies, switch to another browser. See if that helps.

Thank you, I got in with Chrome.

I didn't want to break through captcha or misbehave in any way but on FF there is no captcha on the page, nothing to click on.

It didn't cross my mind to try another browser, stupid me.
Thanks again.

Adobe Stock / Please check the captcha box to sign in.
« on: December 18, 2017, 10:01 »
I can't log in to FT, it is asking the check the captcha which is not in use for a long time now. The captcha sign is parked at bottom right but there is nothing to check.
It happened before but it went away after reloading the page. Is there a workaround for this?

Thanks.
