Who is tuned in?

I'm working on Cidepix's and microstockman's request to disable the link on the image. While I'm at it, I could also disable right-click-saving.

Problem: Lots of legit people might have reasons for saving your image.

Need opinions.

Discuss.

I'm OK with people right clicking - they may want to show to a colleague I guess in some sort of mockup. They can always do a screen copy whatever we do. So no need to do that for me.

Make them as options :)
And all images will be on top in google search, left- and right-clickable, so what for blocking them on site? :)

No problem with right click being available, it's only 600px with our name plastered across it - it's advertising if somebody uses it.

I don't see any real point to having a link from the image when it's only to the same size.

I'm okay with disabling the link if not going to hurt SEO, I think disabling right click annoys more people than it's worth.  As a designer I have and do use comp images to show clients before purchase. I'd add it might be a good thing to not completely disable as I've seen a few plugins for word press stores that handle image zoom and use the linked image...just rambling here but eventually I'd love to see a zoom plug in here :)

2 other options

redbubble posts a clear gif over the image so rightclick cant save the image

smugmug redirects the rightclick to a msg you can customize

I really think that is excessive.. you can have a good watermark and not worry about it at all..

the kind of watermark I am using is nearly impossible to remove.. thieves would rather pay than torture themselves.. :)

Agreed!  Better to frustrate the thieves with watermarks than frustrate designers with no comp images imo.

Speaking of watermarks...any way to get control over transparency? I have tried to find a happy medium but on some of my lighter images, it just doesnt show and is really ugly on some darker ones.

everytime I process more than 3 images I get "the browser can't display the page" sort of errors on both chrome and IE9

I have no idea what's causing the problem.. because when I refresh the page, the images appear to have finished processing.. I even test purchased some of those files and they "not only process fine" but also download fine..

still, it's annoying that page crushes when processing.. could it be because I haven't increased some php.ini limits enough?

to be honest I highly doubt this is due to a php.ini issue because I processed 40-50 images at once on the same hosting with my cmsaccount store..

I am also having processing problems again. If I try to process more than 5 images, the uploader stalls. I cut back to doing 2-3 at a time, but I still get the error log message. The last batch I only uploaded two. Both uploaded ok and processed ok and are online, but every time this error log message is showing. Yesterday I uploaded 10-12 images at once without an issue. I am on blue host now.

I am going to download the new theme version and install and see if that helps.

Cidepix, when I work imagemagic into the script life will be easier in our beta test due to better memory use.

cclapper - you can chose option "delete all files" because its reading an error log.

After I take care of today's little suggestions I'll be back onto those things again.

Every time it comes up, i process the good images, then delete that one, but it comes back on every upload. I am not too concerned...I can still upload photos. But I should be able to upload more than 2-3 at a time.

Hey Leo, my issue earlier did turn out to be related to file extensions so scratch that! One thing to note though, my error images that were uppercase extensions aren't being deleted even though I've moved them to the trash, so they keep popping up in processing. Ghost images!

The only thing I did (that I can remember) is took an & sign off of something in that file... other than that if you can make me an account on your site I will need to look into whats happening.

Same with Cidepix -

Today I destroy uppercase lowercase problem once and for all! I also got microstock man's "gimme a button" request taken care of.

Edit - I see now. I just updated it again. I didn't put it in the right php file that generates your css

I think I am one of those OCD ones you mentioned earlier.... But still, thanks for the button ;)

cclapper - I had that problem a few themes ago, was deleting them individually but no luck. Then this worked...Process your images, you'll be left with a list of those errors. Use the Select all tick box to select all errors, then in the Bulk edit drop down, do Move to Trash and apply. This worked for me, whereas individually deleting them didn't. Don't know why.

Your going to like your button. Its so...blue...

Is this a continuance of the uppercase issue? If you can tell me that will bring me to the problem faster.
