Hi guys,
I am thinking of getting a mirrorless camera, like olympus em-1 or sony A7
basically i am thinking to get it more for ease of using and light to bring around.
anyone have experiences to share of it?
I have a question that sony is full frame camera..which mean a bigger sensor and won't have crop factor on lense.
will a full frame camera provide more details and resolution of images? there are a lot of talks about A7 and A7r, it seems A7r will give better for big printing output so for digital usage it is not necessary?

interesting to know.. don't know about captureone before. Anyone knows good raw editing softwares other than lightroom? i know there is 'bibble' which is free? but I think it is also got out of the market. I never used either products but I agree that the concept of Adobe having an even bigger stranglehold on photographers does not make me fell all warm and fuzzy. I like Lightroom and I use it as a primary tool for post but I would like to have other options available to me. Realizing that there are a few products out there that are competitors, none are in close competition like Aperture was. Sad really.
As a heavy user of Lightroom, from the beginning, I have been very surprised by the results that I have got with CaptureOne 7.2 after only few minutes of use. I just can imagine what I could get with this program if I would know to use it well (!)
Under some aspects I have found it even better than LR: better management of highlights, better denoise, excellent management of colors (with a completely different approach than LR), dedicated instrument for skin tone, tethering with live view and control of the main parameters of the camera from the software You have a catalog manager/library too, but not so efficient than the Lightroom one, but I hope that they will improve it in the futur upgrades. So, IMHO, a software maybe not to use if like me you are satisfied by Lightroom, but to absolutely try, even if it is only to know what is one of the stronger Lightroom's competitor.

i mean to draw on ipad and it can 'talk' to my laptop.. Do you mean you want to use it like a Wacom to draw on your laptop or desktop computer, or to draw on the iPad itself, separate from a computer?

Hi guys,
It seems to me it is possible to use ipad or any tablet as a drawing tablet like wacom,
do you guys use it? try to search for it but didn't come out as any app..
i know it is not a replacement of wacom, but i think it is useful when one need a handwrtiing tablet with precision is not that critical.
thanks.

hi all,
when i edit photo under lightroom develop page..
the below is the 'row' of photo..when i choose one photo if i use my mouse scroll wheel roll forward, it move to right, if scroll wheel roll downward, it move to left..it is ok.
but when it moves, it 'jumps' like with 8 photos in between, i wonder can i control the setting? like i will like if i roll it, it moves slow next by next photos..
sometimes i took a series of similar photos then if i move the selected photo is out of the screen or i just spend time like right roll and left roll.. looking for the photos. If i have to deal with it always it becomes a problem.
anyone know i can do a setting for the wheel roll in lightroom?

it seems for some reason all the layers are not blended, as there is no layer mask at all.
i tried 'edit' then 'auto blend' but i encountered scratch disk are full, so maybe it is the reason..i will see how to fix it.

every images are aligned properly but no mask layers on it..even i have selected auto blend.
it seems if i merge more than 10 images photoshop won't blend it.
37
« on: May 05, 2014, 12:19 »
it seems to me it is due to some technical problem like the ram or file size which end up the final merge panorama is not blended.
but if i select less files to merge it is blended ok.
how many files can photoshop actually handle for a photomerge?

Hi all,
I am doing a panorama using raw files.. so i selected 12 files in lightroom and choose edit as panorama in photoshop..and select auto blend option.
But the final panorama is alighted correctly by not blended together, so it is with visible edges.
I tried to use 9 files or 10 files it seems the final panorama will blend together without problem.
I wonder what is the reason? due to limitation of file size?
what you guys do? should i merge the 9 files first and save as tiff files and merge with the rest of two files?
thanks.

I asked the agency their answer is they didn't initiate it.
I asked the paypal and still waiting for the answer.

i was able to find the solutions after playing arounds..i think one needs to convert it as 'frames'? i played around and wasn't really remember how it is done now..
it seems like u should switch to animations or convert it as frames..
if i work on photoshop again i will see how i did that..

i think there is a saying like the best day to start something is today.. i think it is true..
if you never start u never know what u end up as..

for me a wacom tablet is useful because it can achieve close enough of hand written or hand drawings illustrations.. like u can write your signature on a wacom tablet, but not a mouse.. so the purpose is to duplicate the 'pen style' i guess..for illustrations.
for photoshop editing, i never feel like i need to use a wacom tablet..

without in shutterstock, one won't really make money to continue this 'hobbies'..
and stock photos aren't about beautiful photos, it is more about 'useful' photos..same as illustrations..

I notice hard disk space is critical too, as when u edit, all temporary files which can be a few g or more?

are you taking self potrait? or other photographer took those photos? it is quite strange the other guy will mistake other faces for his own face.. and if he is not even model for photographers.
anyway, to me it is a story that can make into a movie, so u better go out to sell the story.
do you think the person and you lookalike? i never really see a person look like me at all, and i wonder will two strangers really look alike?
